Dengan nama Allah yang Maha Pemurah lagi Maha Penyayang.

Segala puji bagi Allah Tuhan pentadbir seluruh alam. Selawat dan sejahtera semoga dilimpahkan ke atas junjungan besar Nabi Muhammad yang semulia-mulia pesuruh-Nya, serta ke atas keluarga dan sekalian sahabat-sahabatnya.

Ya Allah, wahai Tuhan kami, hidupkan kami dengan iman, matikan kami dalam iman, serta masukkan kami ke dalam syurga bersama-sama iman.

Ya Allah, ya Tuhan kami, ampunilah segala dosa kesalahan kami dan dosa-dosa kesalahan kedua ibu bapa kami, serta kesihanilah kedua ibu bapa kami sebagaimana mereka berdua mengasihani kami semasa masih kecil.

Ya Allah, akhirilah umur kami dengan kesudahan yang baik dan janganlah kiranya Engkau akhirkan umur kami dengan kesudahan yang tidak baik.

Ya Allah, ya Tuhan kami, janganlah kiranya Engkau pesongkan iman kami sesudah Engkau kurniakan kepada kami petunjuk. Anugerahilah kami rahmat kerana sesungguhnya Engkau Maha Pengurnia.

Wahai Tuhan kami, kurniakanlah kepada kami kebaikan di dunia ini dan juga di akhirat, dan peliharalah kami daripada azab neraka.

Semoga Allah mencucuri rahmat dan sejahtera ke atas junjungan kami Nabi Muhammad dan ke atas seluruh keluarga dan sahabat-sahabat baginda. Dan segala puji itu tertentu bagi Allah, Tuhan pentadbir seluruh alam.

Cara Berdoa

Disyariatkan bagi seorang mukmin untuk berdoa semasa solat sebagaimana disunnahkanuntuk berdoa sama ada ketika solat fardhu ataupun solat sunnah.Nabi telah menunjukkan contoh cara berdoa dalam solat iaitu

ketika sujud,duduk diantara dua sujud danselepas tasyahud dan selawat atas Nabi Shallallahu alaihi wasallam sebelum salam.

Telah diriwayatkan pula bahwa beliau berdoa ketika duduk di antara dua sujud:

‘Allahummagfilii, warhamnii, wahdinii, wajburnii, warzuqnii, wa’aafinii’ ertinya “Ya Allah ampunilah aku, rahmatillah aku, berilah hidayah kepadaku, cukupilah aku, berilahrezeki kepadaku dan maafkanlah aku”

Nabi Shallallahu “alaihi wa sallam juga bersabda:

“Adapun rukuk maka agungkanlah Rabb-mu, sedangkan ketika sujud bersungguh-sungguhlah dalam berdoa, niscaya segera dikabulkan untuk kalian” (H/R Muslim)

Dari Abu Hurairah Radhiyallahu ‘anhu bahwa Nabi Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam bersabda:

“Jarak paling dekat antara seorang hamba dengan Rabb-nya adalah ketika sujud,maka perbanyaklah doa (ketika itu)” (H/R Muslim)

Dari Abdullah bin Mas’ud Radhiyallahu ‘anhu bahawa:Nabi Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam ketika mengajarkan tasyahud kepadanya berkata:”Kemudian hendaknya seseorang memilih permintaan yang dia kehendaki” Dalam lafaz yang lain: “Kemudian pilihlah doa yang paling disukai lalu berdoa” (H/R Sahihain)

“Ya Allah, aku berlindung kepada-Mu dari azab kubur, aku berlindung kepada-Mudari fitnah Dajjal, aku berlindung kepada-Mu dari fitnah hidup dan mati. Ya Allah, akuberlindung kepada-Mu dari dosa-dosa dan terbelit hutang.” (HR. Bukhari dan Muslim)

“Ya Allah! Sesungguhnya aku mohon kepadaMu, agar dimasukkan ke Surga danaku berlindung kepadaMu dari Neraka.” (HR. Abu Daud dan lihat Sahih Ibnu Majah)

“Ya Allah! Berilah pertolongan kepadaku untuk menyebut nama-Mu, syukur kepada-Mu dan ibadah yang baik untuk-Mu.” (HR. Sahih Abu Daud dan An-Nasai)

Adapun berdoa selepas selesai solat, tidak ada contohnya dari Nabi Sallallahu ‘alaihiwasallam. (Wallahu a’lam, selepas solat - Nabi hanya berzikir)

Berniagalah engkau dengan Allah

Sayyidina Ali bin Abi Thalib pernah didatangi seseorang yang mengeluh karena perniagaannya yang terus merugi. Dia bertanya tentang apa yang harus dilakukannya. Sayyidina Ali lalu memberi resep yang berbunyi, "Berniagalah engkau dengan Allah" Berniaga dengan Allah adalah dengan memperbanyak sedekah; setiap kita bersedekat berarti kita meminjami Allah dan Allah membayarnya dengan berlipat ganda seperti dalam surat Al-Baqarah 245: ”Siapa yang memberikan pinjaman yang berarti kepada Allah, niscaya Allah akan melipatgandakan pembayaran kepadanya yang banyak sekali dan Allah sanggup mempersulit dan melapangkan rizki dan kepadaNya kamu dikembalikan.” Dengan demikian kita dapat menghindari bencana kerugian dengan bersedekah.

A Checklist For Ramadan

1. Ask Allah to enable you to reach Ramadan and to get the most out of it as the Salaf (early generation of pious people) used to do.

2. Intend to fast every day with Iman and pure intention seeking the reward from Allah alone. The Prophet peace be upon him said, “Whoever fasts in Ramadan with Iman and seeking reward (from Allah) his past sins will be forgiven”. (Bukhari)

3. Read the whole Qur’an at least once as the Prophet peace be upon him did.

4. Have Suhoor as the Prophet peace be upon him said, “Have Suhoor because it is blessed”.

5. Make Du’a during the fast because the Prophet peace be upon him said that three people’s supplication is not rejected one of them is the fasting person. Ask for the good of this life and the next for yourself, your family and Muslims in general.

6. Make Dua before opening the fast. The Prophet peace be upon him said, “The fasting person has a supplication that is answered when he opens his fast”.

7. Give Sadaqah and be good to people. The Prophet peace be upon him was the most generous of people and he was most generous in Ramadan.

8. Avoid anything that diminishes the fast such as, lying, backbiting, cheating, getting angry. The Prophet peace be upon him said “Whoever does not give up false statements (i.e. telling lies), and evil deeds, and speaking bad words to others, Allah is not in need of his (fasting) leaving his food and drink.” [Bukhari]

9. Do not eat too much after Iftar.

10. Ask for forgiveness since this is the month Allah frees people from the fire.

11. Pray At-Tarawih with Khushoo. If you pray in the Masjid complete the Salah with the Imam. If you pray at home prolong the Salah as long as you can. The Prophet peace be upon him said, “Whoever prays during Ramadan with Iman and seeking reward (from Allah) his past sins will be forgiven”.

12. Feed the poor and invite others for Iftar. The Prophet peace be upon him said, “Whoever gives Iftar to someone fasting he will have the same reward without decreasing the reward of the person fasting”.

13. Try harder the last ten nights especially the odd nights. The prophet would strive in Ramadan more than he would in any other month and more so in the last ten days.

14. Say this Dua in the nights that Laitul-Qadr is likely to fall on: Allhumma innaka afuwun tuhibbul-afwa fa’fu anni (O Allah you are Forgiving and love forgiveness so forgive me).

15. Ask Allah to accept all your good actions during this month.

O you who believe, fasting is decreed for you, as it was decreed for those before you, that you may attain salvation. (Quran, 2:183)

Sayyidul Istighfar

The Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam said:

"The noblest and most excellent manner of seeking forgiveness is that one says:

"O Allah! You are my Lord! None has the right to be worshipped except You. You created me, and I am Your slave. And I am faithful to my covenant and my promise as far as I am able. I seek refuge from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge before You all the favours that You have bestowed upon me, and I confess all my sins to You. So forgive me, since none can forgive sins except You".

Then he (sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said:

"Whoever says it in the day, with firm conviction in it, and dies in that day before evening- then he is from the people of Paradise. Whoever says it in the night, with firm conviction in it, and he dies before the morning- then he is from the people of Paradise". [saheeh al-Bukhari]

Hopefully the following transliteration will make it easy on you, the reader, to pronounce this du'a properly insha Allah:

"Allahumma anta rabbee laa ilaaha illa ant, khalaqtanee wa anaa 'abduk, wa anaa 'alaa 'ahdika wa wa'adika mas tata't, a'oodhu bika min sharri maa sana't, aboo o laka bini'matika 'alayy, wa aboo o laka bidhanbee, faghfir lee fa innahu laa yaghfirudh-dhunooba illa ant".

This topic is indeed one of the most important topics we Muslims should pay attention to. The texts in the Book and the Sunnah that deal with the importance and encouragement of seeking forgiveness are many, but I will stick to some of which shaykh 'Abdur Razzaq mentioned in this lecture. The shaykh mentioned the saying of Allah the Most High:

"Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed greatly against themselves through sins! Do not despair of the Mercy of Allah. Indeed Allah forgives all sins to those who repent. Indeed He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful". [Az-Zumar (39):53]

It is related that a man came to al-Hasan al-Basree, the noble Tabi'i(rahimahullah), and complained to him of poverty. So he said to him, 'Ask forgiveness of Allah'. Another man came to him complaining that he did not have any children. So he said to him, 'Ask forgiveness of Allah'. A third man came to him complaining of the barrenness of his garden. So he said to him, 'Ask forgiveness of Allah'. He then recited to them the saying of Allah, the Perfect and Most High:

"I said to them, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord, indeed He is Oft-Forgiving. He will send rain to you in abundance and He will give you increase in wealth and children and bestow on you gardens and rivers". [Nuh (71):10-12]

So the fruits and benefits of seeking forgiveness are for the wordly life as well as the Hereafter.

Also, keep in mind the following hadith qudsi:

Allah's Messenger sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam said:

"Allah the Most High said, 'O son of Adam! As long as you supplicate to Me, and hope in Me, I will forgive you what you have done and I do not care. O son of Adam! If your sins were to reach the lofty regions of the sky, then you asked Me for forgiveness, I would forgive you. O son of Adam! If you were to come to Me with enough sins to fill the earth, but you met Me not associating anything with Me- I would bring you the like of it of forgiveness".

Subhan Allah!!! Allah tells us He will forgive our sins, no matter how many and how tremendous, as long as we (continuously) seek His forgiveness!!! Then which of His blessings will we deny???

Rasulullah sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam used to repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness more then 70 times each day, and this is the one whose earlier and later sins were forgiven, so where are we in comparison to him (sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam)??? Surely, we do not keep count of our sins, in fact most of them we so easily forget, but Allah opens the door of forgiveness, and all we have to do is knock on that door-by repentence and asking for His forgiveness, and insha Allah there will come a time when we can walk through that door.

Allah does not want us to become desperate and without hope. Allah WANTS us to supplicate to Him, He WANTS us to knock on that door, in fact He LOVES those who repent. This can be concluded from the following hadith [in sahih Muslim]:

Abu Hurairah narrated from the Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam that he said:

"By Allah! If you did not commit sins, Allah would have taken you away and brought a people who seek Allah's forgiveness, and He would forgive them".

Another important point which we must pay attention to are the perfect Names of Allah, and we must call upon Him by His Names and worship Him by that which His Names demand. Allah Himself said:

"And the most beatiful names belong to Allah, so call on Him by them ". [Al-A'raf (7):180]

Also, it is reported [sahih Bukhari and Muslim] that Rasulullah sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam said:

"Allah has ninety-nine names, a hundred except one. Whoever memorises and is mindful of them will enter Paradise".

From this hadith we see that mere memorisation of His names is not sufficient. Rather, as the scholars have explained, mindfulness of His names comprises three levels:

1. Memorisation of the names
2. Understanding of their meanings
3. Calling upon Allah by these names and acting as they demand.

Shaykh 'Abdur Razzaq gave a beautiful example of this by saying:

"As an example of this, we may take from the names of Allah that of At-Tawwab. We then understand that its' meaning, 'He who guides His servants to repent and accepts their repentance', is telling us that Allah, the Majestic and Most High, accepts His servant's repentence, guides them to repent and grants that to them. We also understand that He, the Most High, is the only One to grant forgiveness. Having understood all this, we act as the name demands by repenting to Allah from all our sins......However, it is important that our understanding of them should be correct and far removed from such corrupt methodologies as ta'wil, which attempts to explain away the meanings of Allah's attributes by deviated and twisted understandings, or ta'til, which denies both the attributes and that which they indicate-that which Allah and His Messenger sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam intended. No, our understanding is based upon the methodology of the Salaf of the Ummah".

This only briefly touches the topic of the importance and the manner of seeking forgiveness, and I pray that we may find it benefical in this world and in the Hereafter. A Muslim should live between hope, fear and love, trying to stay away from the impermissible-thus fearing Allah; seeking forgiveness for his sins-thus hoping in Allah; praising and thanking Allah and always thinking good of his Lord-thus loving Allah. There are so many blessings that Allah bestows upon each and every one of us, and we should thank Him for them and take advantage of them before our time expires. So I leave you with the beautiful and perfect words of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala:

"Allah does not forgive that anything is associated in worship with Him, but He forgives whatever is lesser than that to whomever He pleases". [An-Nisa (4):48]

"Indeed I am forgiving to the one who repents, truly believes and does righteous good deeds, and then remains constant in doing them". [Ta Ha (20):82]

EASY ROAD TO PARADISE: GOLDEN DEEDS THAT LEAD TO SUCCESS

This article has been extracted from a booklet in Urdu entitled ‘Jannat ka Asan Rasta” which can be translated as “Easy Road to Paradise.” The booklet was transcribed from a lecture delivered by the renowned Islamic scholar Shaykh Mufti Mohammad Rafi Uthmani at a National Gathering of Scholars.

The respected scholar introduced his talk with the following verse from the Qur'an (Al-Imran, The Family of Imran) [3:102]:

What Allah says in the first part of this verse is “O believers! Fear Allah as He aught to be feared” which means “O believers! Do not approach that which He has forbidden you, and do not delay in fulfilling what He has ordered you to do.” Then Allah continues: “and die not except in a state of Islam.” It is clear that death is not within our control. However, what is in our control is our condition at the time of death – that it may be auspicious for us. The way to achieve that is to protect ourselves from every form of sin at all times, and whenever a sin is committed, to hasten towards Taubah (repentance) and Istighfar (begging forgiveness from Allah).

Allah (swt) has kept the doors of repentance open, so that a person keeps committing sins and keeps repenting and Allah keeps forgiving, until the time when the angels of death become visible to the person and the throes of death begin, for at that time the door of repentance closes. However, if one is habituated to Taubah and Istighfar, then even if, Allah forbid, death comes to him while he is committing a sin, there will only be that one sin for which he did not have a chance to make Taubah. The uncertainty of death is a very important reason why one should always be concerned about staying away from sins.

Today, however, a flood of mischief has engulfed the entire society. In this situation, how can a person save oneself from sins? How can one protect one’s eyes, ears, hands, etc. from indulging in forbidden acts? To protect oneself from sins under these circumstances is easier said than done. To overcome this problem, the Qur’an has ordered us and so have the ‘Ulama (scholars) and pious elders of Islam, to acquire the company of the righteous people and to try to spend as much time as possible with them. This is so that by being in their company, the heart may develop a fondness for good deeds and a fear and distaste for sins, and, consequently, it may become easier to save oneself from sins and do good deeds. Allah says in the Qur’an [at-Taubah 9:119]:

O you who believe! Fear Allah and be with the righteous people.

The truth is that once a strong connection with Allah is developed, a person cannot commit a sin even if he tries. The heart is filled with such nur (light) that one is afraid even when coming close to sin. Thereafter, Allah (swt) turns his heart away from sin and creates such circumstances that, even without any conscious intention, he continues to be protected from sin. It is due to Allah’s immense generosity that Allah (swt) saves man from sin.

Four Golden Deeds

The respected scholar mentioned that one day his eminent teacher and spiritual guide Arif Billah Dr. ‘Abdul Hye (rahm) said to him, “I will show you an easy prescription for rectification of the heart. This prescription is very brief but it is very swift in its effect. It consists of four a’mal (good deeds) that are the life of the Islamic Shari’ah and Tariqah, and they are so easy to do that you do not have to spend your life, wealth, or time to do them. If a person makes it a habit of doing them, a special connection with Allah (swt) is created whose effect one begins to feel in one’s life. The heart becomes willing to accept rectification and then gradually a state is reached when even if the person wants to commit sin, he is unable to do so. Those four deeds are:

1) Shukr (Gratitude to Allah),

2) Sabr (Patience, Perseverance),

3) Istighfar (Seeking Forgiveness from Allah), and

4) Isti’azah (Seeking Allah’s Protection).

Shaykh Mufti Rafi Uthmani Saheb then said to the audience, “Today I am giving you the gift that my teacher gave to me during my fourteen years as his student. I hope that you will appreciate its value, because my teacher used to say, “This is my teacher’s gift,” and his teacher used to say, “This is the gift given by Allah and Allah’s Messenger (saw).” Furthermore my teacher used to tell me very often, “Make it a habit to practice these four deeds: Shukr, Sabr, Istighfar, and Isti’azah.””

1. SHUKR

The first deed is Shukr (Gratitude to Allah). Firstly, you need to make it a habit that every day when you get up in the morning and before you sleep at night you glance at yourself and your circumstances and then reflect on the spiritual and material Blessings that Allah has bestowed upon you, and give a collective thanks to Him for them. Especially you need to reflect on the wealth of Iman (true faith in Allah) and easy circumstances that Allah has given you and give your heartfelt thanks to Him for them, and resolve to use those gifts in a proper way. Besides this, whenever a thought crosses your mind about any of the bounties from Allah that you enjoy, you should thank Him quietly, in your heart.

In other words, whenever something happens according to what you wished or wanted and you feel happy about it and your heart feels peace, you should quietly say, “Al-Hamdulillah” or “Allahumma Lakal-Hamd wa Lakash-Shukr.”

The Many Occasions of Shukr

Every day from morning to evening, so many things happen according to a person’s wishes and desires, for which one can express one’s thankfulness to Allah (swt). For example, one opens one’s eyes in the morning in a condition of good health and says “Al-Hamdulillah.” He sees all his family members also healthy, and quietly says, “Al-Hamdulillah.” He goes to the Masjid and is able to join the Jama’at (congregational prayer), and says “Al-Hamdulillah.” He gets his breakfast on time and says “Al-Hamdulillah.” He reaches work on time, and says “Al-Hamdulillah.” Someone who travels by bus and is worried that he may miss the bus, but actually gets it, says “Al-Hamdulillah.” He climbs on the bus and is able to find a seat, and says “Al-Hamdulillah.” On returning home from work, he finds his wife looking fine and says “Al-Hamdulillah.” The weather is hot but there is a cool breeze blowing, so he says “Al-Hamdulillah.”

In summary, if an affair, no matter how small or big, happens according to one’s wishes, or one’s prayer is accepted by Allah (swt), or if Allah enables one to do some good deed, anything that makes the heart feel pleasure and happiness, one should make it a habit to be thankful to Allah from one’s heart and tongue. This gratitude does not require any time, money or effort.

We have Been Given Unlimited Bounties

In fact, if, Allah forbid, some difficulty or problem comes upon us, before trying to get out of it, think about how many bounties Allah (swt) has surrounded us with, without our deserving them. This gives strength to our heart and allows us to face such situations. Insha-Allah by thinking in this manner, we will attain peace of mind even if the problem may persist. We can say without exaggeration that at every moment Allah (swt) is showering countless bounties upon us, and in this way, we will have at least thanked Allah (swt) for some of those bounties. By doing this consistently, a person makes it a habit to thank Allah, so that on seeing anything that pleases him, he keeps on thanking Allah in his heart. And he does this act in secret so no one knows about it. Thus, a very elevated worship of Allah (swt) is carried out in which there is no riya (showing off), hence his rank with Allah is raised beyond our imagination. In summary, a person should mould himself so that in whatever condition he may be, he keeps thanking Allah (swt). Initially this may seem to be difficult, but with continuous practice and an awareness of Allah’s bounties under most circumstances, it will, Insha-Allah, become a habit.

Gratitude Leads to Increase in Bounties and Protection from Punishment

Allah (swt) says in the Quran [An-Nisa 4:147]

Why should Allah punish you if you are grateful to Him and believe in Him. And Allah is Ever All Appreciative (of good), All-Knowing. …

From this we learn that those who believe in Allah and are always grateful to Him are protected from Allah’s punishment.

Allah (swt) also says [Ibrahim 14:7]

If ye are grateful, I will increase the (bounties) on you;

From this we learn that for whichever bounty we keep thanking Allah, that bounty will keep increasing and thus our worldly life will become easy. If you find this hard to believe then try it yourself. Whoever does this will clearly feel a pleasant change taking place in his life.

Shukr is a Worship that is Loved by Allah

We can understand how beloved this worship is to Allah (swt) from the following facts. The greatest and most beloved among all of Allah’s revealed Books is the noble Qur’an, and Allah (swt) begins this Book with Surah Al-Fatihah, and the very first word with which Surah Fatihah begins is

All Praise and Thanks be to Allah

Surah Al-Fatihah contains the summary of the entire Qur’an, and its very first word is

There has to be a reason why Allah (swt) gives so much importance to praise and thanks or gratitude to Him in the Qur’an. How much does Allah like this Surah? This can be gauged from the fact that it is ordered to recite this Surah not only in every Salah (prayer) but in every Raka’ (cycle) of prayer. Furthermore, Allah (swt) becomes pleased when His servant praises Him.

This Worship will also Continue in Paradise

There will be no worship in Paradise. Salah, Sawm, Zakah, and Hajj will all cease. That will be a place for luxury, enjoyment, peace, and happiness. However, one form of worship, i.e., Shukr or thankfulness, will continue there as well. It comes in a Hadith that Hamd (Praise and thankfulness) will constantly flow from the mouths of the people of Paradise without any effort, just as people breathe air in this world without any conscious intention or effort.

Therefore, if we make it a habit in this world to thank Allah (swt) for every big or small bounty, Allah (swt) will save us from His punishment and will increase His bounties on us. Our hearts will develop love for Allah (swt), our connection with Allah will become strong, we will come closer to Allah, and a pleasant change will take place in our life. We will feel the pleasure from contentment and our life will be full of peace and safety.

A Woodcutter’s Story

Sulaiman (as) had a Throne that no King ever possessed. Jinns carried it in the air, birds flew overhead to provide shade, and many other creatures traveled along with it. Once Sulaiman (as)’s throne was flying in the air with all its pomp and splendor, when a woodcutter in the jungle happened to see it and spontaneously exclaimed, “Subhan-Allah (Glory be to Allah). How great is the honor and grandeur of the family of Dawud (as).” The wind immediately carried his voice to Sulaiman (as). He ordered that the Throne be brought down and said, “Take me to the woodcutter.” The woodcutter started trembling with fear, wondering what crime he may have committed. Sulaiman (as) asked him, “What did you say?” The poor woodcutter was so terrified that he could not remember. After thinking for a while, he recalled and replied, “I only said “Subhan-Allah. How great is the honor of the family of Dawud (as)”” Sulaiman (as) said, “You saw the army of Sulaiman and felt desirous, but you do not realize that thousands of such armies have no value compared to the word Subhan-Allah. You have no idea how high a station you have obtained by saying Subhan-Allah just once.”

Shukr Leads to Sabr and Taqwa

Being grateful to or thanking Allah is such a wealth that brings with it countless blessings of happiness, tranquility, ease, and other bounties. Furthermore, when man will always be thankful, the quality of Sabr will develop in him so that he will not complain during times of difficulty. He will also feel shy to commit sin (he will gain Taqwa), because he will question himself as to how he can disobey the One who he has been expressing his thanks and gratitude to from morning to evening. Therefore, this is also a blessing from the act of Shukr that a thankful person commits very few sins. He also remains free from the diseases of envy, greed, lust, extravagance, miserliness, etc.

Shukr Drives Away Arrogance

Another great benefit of being thankful to Allah (swt) is that the person remains protected from arrogance. This is because whatever bounties he continues to receive, he does not take credit for them but considers them as gifts from Allah (swt), and he keeps acknowledging this. So when he keeps connecting whatever he has to Allah (swt) and not to his own abilities, then on what grounds could he become arrogant? Arrogance is a major sin and it is so dangerous that Allah’s Messenger (saw) said, “La yadkhulil Jannata man kana fi qalbihi mithqala zarratim-min kibr.” This can be translated as “A person who has the smallest particle of arrogance in his heart will not enter Paradise.” [Muslim, narrated by ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud]

2. SABR

The second deed is Sabr (patience, forbearance). Sabr is to stop oneself from committing sin or doing something impermissible when something happens against one’s wishes. In our daily life, many things happen the way we want. Similarly, many things happen that we do not like. For example, I reach the bus stop and find the bus has already left. So, whether the incident that happens against our wishes is big or small, under all circumstances, we need to have Allah (swt) in our minds and keep ourselves under control. This is what Sabr is, and it is a very important ‘amal of the heart. In this Allah (swt) tests the strength of His servant’s Iman. In our daily life, so many things keep happening that are unpleasant and that are hard on our nafs. Sometimes we hear the news of our loved one being sick, in trouble or even dead. Sometimes we may lose our hard-earned money, or we may lose our job or do not get increment or promotion. Each of these things disturbs us mentally, we feel bad, we feel sorry or sad, but these things are continuously testing our patience. As none of these things is under our control, we can never force the results to be what we want. Therefore, we must have a firm belief that these situations come from Allah (swt). Such belief carries much wisdom and many mercies. On such occasions, Allah (swt) has, by His grace and generosity, given us a very beneficial and effective treatment for our peace of mind and heart. Allah (swt) instructs us in the Qur’an to say Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un:

To Allah We belong, and to Him is our return [Al-Baqarah 2:156]

This gives us peace of mind and develops in our nature the ability to bear hardships. So, the easiest way to practice patience when something happens against one’s wishes, whether it is a major shocking sad news or just a minor discomfort, is to say Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. This also does not require any time, money or effort. In his talk the respected scholar gave an example of the Indian Subcontinent where electricity is interrupted frequently due to load shedding and said that whenever the power goes off, we should say Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un and when it returns, we should say “Al-Hamdulillah.” It has been proved from the Ahadith that even on remembering some event from the past that brought sadness or some discomfort if we recite Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un, we will gain the same reward for Sabr as we gained at the time of its original occurrence.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un is not only Associated with Death

A prevalent perception in our society is that the words Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un are only recited at the time of someone’s death. However, this perception is not correct. There is one Hadith where the Prophet is quoted to have said “Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un” when the lamp went off at night. Ayesha Siddiqah (radh) asked him, “O Messenger of Allah. Is this also a calamity?” Allah’s Messenger replied, “Yes. Whatever hurts or causes difficulty to a Muslim is a calamity and on bearing it patiently, it carries Allah (swt)’s promise of reward.” In another Hadith Allah’s Messenger said, “Never is a believer stricken with a discomfort, an illness, an anxiety, a grief or mental worry or even the pricking of a thorn but Allah will expiate his sins on account of his patience.” [Bukhari and Muslim] In yet another Hadith Allah’s Messenger says, “How wonderful is the case of a believer; there is good for him in everything and this applies only to a believer. If prosperity comes to him, he expresses gratitude to Allah and that is good for him; and if adversity befalls him, he endures it patiently and that is better for him.” [Muslim]

And Allah (swt) loves His servant who is patient and grateful.

Mulla Nasruddeen

Mulla Nasruddeen was a philosopher and wise man, widely remembered for his funny and witty stories and anecdotes. There is an incident about Mulla Nasruddeen. It is related about him that he was very good looking and his wife was just the opposite. Once he said to his wife, “Dear wife. You and I will both go to Paradise”. She asked him, “Why is that?” The Mulla replied, “Because when you see me you thank Allah for giving you such a handsome husband, and when I see you, I exercise patience. And the patient and the grateful will both go to Paradise.”

Allah’s Mercy Descends on the Sabir

The lesson is that we should be patient in the face of unpleasant circumstances, whether big or small, and recite Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un, because with patience we are blessed with Allah’s proximity. As Allah says:

Verily Allah is with those who patiently persevere. [Al-Baqarah 2:153]

Who can cause any harm to the one who has gained Allah’s closeness? And about those who, when facing calamities and difficulties and unpleasant circumstances, say Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un, Allah says:

They are those on whom (descend) blessings from Allah, and Special Mercy, and they are the ones that receive guidance. [Al-Baqarah 2:157]

To summarize, at the time of any difficulty, if one recites the words Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un, one will actually feel that Allah’s special mercies are with him. This act creates in the person the quality of perseverance and the dignity to bear and endure hardship, develops in him the strength to face calamities, and attracts divine help so that he remains pleased with Allah’s decisions about himself, which is a very high position in one’s life. The one who practices patience (Sabr) does not develop feelings of anger or of revenge for personal reasons, and if these feelings do develop, they disappear quickly, so that he remains protected from acting on those feelings.

By the way, when Allah’s servant makes it a habit of doing the four golden deeds mentioned earlier, then in a few days he will begin to feel that someone has placed a hand of mercy on his heart and is supporting or backing him so that he does not feel alone anymore and his life starts to become enjoyable.

3. ISTIGHFAR

The third deed is Istighfar (seeking forgiveness from Allah), and this too does not require us to spend of our life, wealth, or time. Whenever a person happens to commit a small or big sin, he should immediately feel remorseful about it and say Astaghfirullah, which means: “O Allah. I seek Your forgiveness.”

The Challenge of Shaytan

When Adam (as) was being sent to this world, even before he could arrive here, Shaytan came with this challenge: “O Allah! I will lead your servants astray and take them to Hell (because man is my enemy, because of whom I lost my high rank).” Adam (as) said, “O Allah! You have given my enemy Shaytan so much power that neither I nor my children possess. He can acquire different forms and appearances and he can come upon us in ways that we cannot see him but he can see us. He is a jinn and we are human beings, and our characteristics are different. He will for sure push us to hell”.

The Weapon Given by Allah

Allah (swt) said, “O Adam! There is no doubt that We have given him many powers. However, We are giving you one weapon to counter his many powers. As long as you will keep on using this weapon, none of Shaytan’s attacks will succeed. The name of that weapon is “Istighfar”. Whenever you happen to commit a sin, say “Astaghfirullah” from the depth of your heart.

Sins are Forgiven through Istighfar

Allah (swt) does not send punishment on those people who do Istighfar (seek Allah’s forgiveness). As Allah says in the Noble Qur’an

And Allah would not punish them while they would seek His Forgiveness. [Al-Anfal 8:33]

Allah (swt) has placed in our hearts the urge to commit sins and He has put pleasures in sin. Hence, it is not easy to stay away from sins as a person automatically gravitates towards them. That is why Allah, in His all-encompassing Mercy, has opened such wide doors of His forgiveness, that if we happen to commit a sin, we should just feel remorseful and sincerely repent and seek Allah’s Forgiveness, and the sin will be forgiven. Abdullah Bin Mas’ud (radh) narrated that Allah’s Messenger said: At-ta-ibu minaz-zambi kamal-la zamba lahu. Translation: “The person who repents of his sin is like a person who did not commit any sin.” [Ibn Majah]

Repent after every Sin

If we commit a sin once, we should repent and seek forgiveness and Allah will forgive the sin. If we commit the same sin again, we should repent again, and Allah (swt) will forgive the sin again. So much so that if we commit the same sin seventy times and every time we repent and seek forgiveness, then each time that sin will be forgiven. This is because the doors of repentance are open. So even if the repentance is broken a thousand times, mend it each time with repentance (Taubah), and the One who is most merciful and most generous will forgive even a thousand times. If a person dies in a state where he sins, then repents, then breaks his repentance by sinning again, but then repents again, and this process continues, then he is successful, because he followed each sin with repentance, which caused each sin to be forgiven. This is the reality of repentance, that there should be remorse after committing the sin, and a firm resolve not to commit the sin again. Every sin is forgiven by repentance, except if we have violated other people’s rights, for they are not forgiven only through repentance, until the other person forgives us or his rights are restored once again.

The Benefits of Istighfar (seeking forgiveness from Allah)

There are many benefits of Istighfar. Istighfar is an act of worship (‘Ibadah). It is also a means for forgiveness of sins and of gaining closeness to one’s Lord. When I will repeatedly seek Allah’s forgiveness then gradually, I will begin to feel shy while committing sins, I will gain an awareness of the vastness of Allah’s mercy through which He continues to provide me with His bounties while I am committing so many sins. Someone who, in his heart, is always aware of his own mistakes and is remorseful over his sins, will never become arrogant or boastful, nor will he ever develop pride over his piety, because he will remember his sins more than his acts of worship, no matter how many they may be.

Istighfar is such a deed that has no set time for it and we need it all the time because we do not know how many sins we keep on committing either knowingly or unknowingly. Some sins are such that we are not even aware of having done them, and there are others that we do not even consider as sins. Under all of these conditions, whenever we become aware that a sin might have been committed, we should immediately turn towards Allah, our heart filled with remorse, and say with our tongue “Astaghfirullah” meaning “O Allah! I am very sorry. Please forgive me and please also protect me from this sin in the future.”

Seeking Allah’s forgiveness is such a deed by which the doors of Allah’s unlimited and complete mercy open for His servant. Besides feeling remorse in his heart, he also becomes aware of his conviction (Aqidah), his faith (Iman) is protected, and he is blessed with the wealth of piety (Taqwa). Such a person does not intentionally commit any sin or at the most he commits very few of them, and such a person also does not cause harm to Allah’s creation. Allah (swt) has, through His Fadl (grace) and Karam (mercy), bestowed a great favor upon His sinful servants by providing them with Taubah (repentance) and Istighfar as a means for them to attain success in this world (duniya) and salvation in the Hereafter (Akhirah). Falillahil-Hamdu wash-Shukr. So for Allah is the praise and the thanks.

Pious elders have advised that we should try, as far as we can recall, to remember and reflect on all our sins committed in the past, whether major or minor, and then with full sincerity and with complete remorse and humility, repent (make Taubah) and seek Allah’s forgiveness (make Istighfar) for them. This should be enough. Insha-Allah, all our sins will be forgiven. Thereafter, we should not make it a habit to repeatedly remember them and become disturbed. Rather, if ever a sin is unconsciously recalled, we should quietly seek Allah’s forgiveness for it once. Remember, however, that it is obligatory on us to fulfill others’ rights, under all circumstances.

4. ISTI’AZAH

The fourth deed is Isti’azah. Isti’azah means to seek protection. Before we begin to recite the Qur’an we recite

which means “I seek Allah’s protection against the accursed and rejected Shaytan.” This action of ours is also Isti’azah because what we are essentially saying is, “O Allah! Take us within your protection against the harm from Shaytan.” We have to recite “A’uzubillah” before reciting the Qur’an because its order is given in the Qur’an itself [An-Nahl 16:98]:

When you read the Qur'an, seek Allah's protection from Shaytan the rejected one.

Recite “A’uzubillah” (I seek Allah’s Protection) During Every Occasion of Danger

This worldly life is filled with all kinds of events and happenings, and we always face Shaytan and our inner desires. Hence, we should continue to seek the Protection of Allah (swt) all the time. There are some dangers associated with monetary dealings and relationships with people, and we may not be able to find any solution to avoid those dangers, nor may the matters be within our control. On such occasions, seeking the protection of Allah (swt) naturally provides great strength to our hearts. Therefore, we must make it a habit to say “A’uzubillah” from the depth of our hearts whenever we face any such difficulty. From morning to night, man is surrounded by different kinds of whispers from Shaytan and worries about things to come. “I do not know what may happen tomorrow. What if I lose my job, or lose my respect, or my possessions get stolen, or an enemy attacks me, or I lose money in my trade or business, or I get sick with such and such disease, or I die, or get in an accident, and so on.” No one is free from such possible dangers. The way to save oneself from all dangers of this world and the Hereafter is this great worship called Isti’azah (seeking Allah’s protection). Whenever the heart receives any whisper from Shaytan or a worry or concern about something that might happen, quietly say “A’uzubillah” which means “O Allah! I seek Your protection”. If you cannot remember the Arabic word, you can convey this supplication to Allah in your own language. Note that the more wealthy a person is, and the higher a position he holds, the more worries and dangers he has, and the one who possesses neither wealth nor fame nor position of any significance, also has less worries and dangers.

The Helplessness of a Thief

A thief entered a house. He searched all over but could not find anything to steal. This was because there was nothing there to steal, neither utensils nor clothes, nor any furniture. After searching for some time, he noticed a man sleeping very peacefully in the verandah. The thief thought to himself that he must take something from this house otherwise it may bring bad luck. When he looked carefully, he saw a pile of flour close to the sleeping man. The thief spread his sheet on the floor in order to transfer the flour onto it. However, just as he was about to pick up the flour, the sleeping man turned over onto the thief’s sheet. Now instead of taking something, the thief was actually losing his own belonging, because the man was sound asleep. It was a cold wintry night, and the thief sat down to wait for the sleeping man to turn over to the other side so that he could pick up his sheet, but the man showed no signs of moving. The poor thief was shivering from waiting so long in the cold and he was just beginning to think that he did not care any more about the flour, he just wanted to take his sheet with him, when he heard the Adhans (calls for prayer) for the Fajr (dawn) prayer. The thief decided it was time to leave, and as he was stepping out of the door, he heard a voice from behind him saying, “Close the door on your way out.” The thief was so frustrated that he replied, “Let it stay open. Someone else may come in and provide another sheet to cover you.”

Thus, nobody is free from worries and danger. The more important a person is, the more are his worries and dangers, and the less important a person is, the more peace and tranquility he enjoys. During every situation of worry or danger, one should say “A’uzubillah” which means “O Allah! I seek Your Protection.” One may have fear of failure in achieving one’s goal, or one may be afraid of losing one’s life or wealth due to the evil from an enemy or envier. One may also have the fear of being involved in an open or secret sin due to mischief from one’s inner desires and Shaytan or of being punished in the Hereafter, or maybe some unclean desire enters the heart. In all cases one should immediately recite “A’uzubillah” or recite the following Du’a (supplication): “Allahumma la malja-a wa la manja-a minka illa ilaik” which means: “O Allah! There is neither refuge nor any safety from You except in You.” In other words, “Difficulties are also sent by You, and only You can provide us safety from those difficulties.”

Cling to the Archer

A wise man once asked the people: “There is a tremendous archer who never misses his target. The sky is his bow, and all the calamities and sorrows of this world are his arrows. What is the way to save yourself from him?” The people replied, “It is impossible to be safe from such an archer.” The wise man then said, “There is only one way: Cling to this archer.” So brothers! Seek the protection and refuge of Allah (swt). Whenever you feel any fear or anxiety in your heart, immediately say “O Allah I seek your refuge and your protection.” He is such a Giver that He never refuses anyone who sincerely begs from Him. Just imagine this scenario: It is a dark night and the rain is pouring down heavily. Some robbers are chasing a lone child, who is running away from them and screaming, “Save me! Give me shelter!” Would you not give refuge to such a helpless child? It is obvious that you would give him shelter even if you lived in a hut. Allah (swt) is the Lord of all and He is the most merciful of those who show mercy. When His servants who are overwhelmed by difficulties seek His protection, He surely opens for them the doors of refuge and protection.

Isti’azah (seeking Allah’s protection) is a deed by which Allah’s servant experiences Allah’s majesty, the greatness of His Rububiyah (Lordship), and His all-encompassing beneficence, and he feels in his heart the protection and peace from Allah (swt). He is also blessed with the wealth of Tawakkul (complete trust and reliance on Allah) and Tafwid (being content with Allah’s decisions about him). Such people will never harbor any desire to harm others. So, let us make it a habit that whenever we feel danger, we say a heartfelt “A’uzubillah”. When we will genuinely seek Allah’s protection, we will be able to witness for ourselves Allah’s mercy opening strange and unexpected ways for our protection from dangers as they advance towards us.

Make it a Habit to Practice these Four A’mal

So, in summary, four good deeds were discussed: Shukr, Sabr, Istighfar, and Isti’azah. Be constant in practicing all four of them. Make it a habit. Then Insha-Allah step-by-step one’s entire life will gradually become patterned according to Deen (Islam). Both Deen and duniya (worldly life) will remain protected and one will develop hatred for sins and fondness for good deeds. One will continue to develop more and more closeness to Allah, and will begin to feel a special connection with Him.

Three Periods of Time are Protected

At any time in man’s life, there are three periods: past, present, and future. Through Istighfar, the past is protected. Through Shukr and Sabr, the present is protected, and through Isti’azah the future will be protected. When all three periods are protected, the entire life is protected. Whoever makes it a habit to perform these four good deeds, Insha-Allah at every moment he will experience Allah’s help and beneficence.

Convey this Gift to Others

In concluding his talk, the respected scholar said, “I have a request from you all. What I presented in front of you today is a priceless gift given to me by my esteemed teacher and spiritual guide. It is extremely easy to do and very effective. Please convey this gift to your family and your acquaintances. Insha-Allah by sticking to it you will be protected from so many uncountable sins, accidents and calamities. And you can do one more thing – please send thawab (reward for good deeds) to the soul of my teacher and spiritual guide ‘Arif Billah Dr. ‘Abdul Hayy ‘Arifi (rahm) who gave us this great gift. May Allah (swt) enable us to be constant in doing these four a’mal (good deeds). Ameen.

10 RAMUAN UBAT PENCUCI DOSA

Hassan Basri telah bercerita bahawa suatu hari dia bersama seorang pemuda ahli ibadah berkeliling melalui jalan-jalan kecil dan beberapa pekan di negeri Basrah. Tiba-tiba ia bertemu dengan seorang tabib yang sedang duduk diatas sebuah kerusi, di hadapannya ada beberapa orang lelaki, perempuan, dan kanak-kanak yang sedang memegang botol berisi air di tangan mereka. Setiap orang meminta tabib itu menyebutkan ramuan ubat bagi penyakit masing-masing.Hasan Basri mara ke depan tabib itu dan berkata: Tuan tabib! Adakah tuan mempunyai ubat yang boleh mencuci dosa, serta menyembuhkan penyakit hati?".

Berkata Tabib itu: "Ya, saya ada".

Lalu pemuda itu berkata: "Berilah pada saya".

Berkata Tabib itu: "Ambillah dari saya sebagai ramuannya sebanyak 10 perkara iaitu:

1. Ambil oleh mu akar kayu fakir dan akar kayu tawaduk

2. Campurkan dengan pencuci kotoran perut bernama taubat.

3. Lalu masukkan semua ke dalam lesung redha

4. Giling sampai halus dengan pengetam Qana'ah.

5. Kemudian masukkan ke dalam periuk taqwa

6. Tuangkan ke dalamnya air hayak (malu).

7. Lalu didihkan dengan api mahabbah (cinta).

8. Selepas itu pindahkan dia ke dalam mangkuk syukur

9. Kipaskan dengan kipas angin rajak (harapan).

10. Kemudian minumlah dia dengan sudu pujian. Jika engkau perbuat semua itu, maka dia bermanfaat bagimu, untuk melindungi dirimu dari semua penyakit serta bala di dunia dan di akhirat".

"Ya Rabb kami, janganlah Engkau jadikan hati kami condong kepada kesesatan setelah engkau beri petunjuk kepada kami." (Ali Imran : 250)

Pada satu ketika semasa Nabi Sulaiman A.S. di atas singgahsana kerajaannya di hadapan manusia, jin dan juga binatang, ia merasai bahawa ia berkuasa memerintah semua makhluk Allah di dunia ini. Dalam keadaan demikian itu, tiba-tiba datang satu Lembaga yang besar lagi dasyat rupanya. Nabi Sulaiman merasa takut dan gementar melihatnya. Lalu ia bertanya siapakah sebenarnya Lembaga itu dan apakah tujuan kedatangannya.

Lembaga itu menjawab, ia bernama ” Rihul Ahmar”. Satu penyakit yang merbahaya diantara lain-lain penyakit. Allah mencipta dirinya sedemikian rupa dan diberi kuasa mendatangkan kesakitan kepada anak-anak Adam. Ia boleh meresap di tubuh manusia seperti darah mengalir di dalam urat saraf. Tatkala Allah hendak memberi azab kepada sesiapa yang dikehendakiNya ia memberi kuasa kepadanya supaya masuk ke dalam badan. Jika ia masuk ke dalam otak hilanglah akal seseorang itu. Kalau ia masuk menerusi hidung maka akan lahir penyakit bengkak-bengkak, sembam dan sehingga binasalah keseluruhan anggotanya.

Mendengar itu Nabi Sulaiman memerintahkan mereka yang berada di sekelilingnya membunuh dan membakar Lembaga itu. Rihul Ahmar menjawab bahawa tidak ada seorangpun yang dapat menghalangnya berbuat demikian kerana Allah telah menjadikannya sedemikian rupa dan melanjutkan umurnya.

Kemudian Lembaga itu pun ghaib hingga ke zaman Rasulullah S. A.W. Telah diriwayatkan bahawa cucu Rasulallah Al-Hassan Bin Ali telah mengidap sakit rongga dan keluar darah daripadanya. Apabila Rasulullah dan sahabat-sahabatnya menerima khabar tersebut Malaikat Jibrail pun datang dan memberitahu bahawa cucu baginda itu terkena sakit Rihul Ahmar.

Bila ditanya tentang ubatnya malaikat Jibrail mengatakan ada, lalu ia ghaib sebentar kemudian datang kepada Rasulullah. Jibrail mengatakan bahawa Allah S.W mengurniakan satu hadiah doa yang mustajab kepada sesiapa yang membacanya satu kali seumur hidupnya. Insyallah ia akan selamat daripada penyakit Rihul Ahmar.

Rasulullah pun membacanya untuk cucunya. Tiba-tiba ia sembuh ketika itu juga dan bangun berdiri dalam keadaan yang cukup sihat.

Rasulullah telah bersabda kepada sahabat-sahabatnya supaya mempelajari doa tersebut dan mengajarnya kepada umatnya yang lain supaya mereka mendapat manfaat serta terpelihara diri dari serangan penyakit Rihul Ahmar (Angin Ahmar). Insyaallah.

Maksudnya:

Dengan nama Allah Yang Maha Pemurah lagi Maha Penyayang; dan dengan-Nya kami memohon pertolongan; dan dengan Allah; dan dari Allah; dan kepada Allah; dan segala pujian tertentu bagi Allah; dan tiada Tuhan melainkan Allah; dan Allah Maha Besar, yang Maha Mulia dan Maha Agung; yang aku takut dan bimbang terhadap-Nya. Allah Maha Besar dengan segala kebesaran-Nya; segala pujian tertentu bagi Allah, sebanyak-banyak pujian. Dan Maha Suci Allah pagi-pagi dan petang-petang. Dengan nama Allah yang menyembuhkan, dengan nama Allah yang mencukupkan; dan dengan nama Allah yang menyihatkan; dengan nama Allah yang dengan nama-Nya tiada memberi mudharat sesuatu apa jua di bumi dan di atas langit, dan Dia Maha Mendengar lagi Maha Mengetahui. Dan Kami turunkan sesetengah dari Al-Quran yang menjadi penawar dan rahmat untuk orang-orang yang beriman.

Ya Allah, aku yang menjampi dan Engkau yang menyembuhkan. Aku berlindung dengan-Mu daripada kejahatan yang telah Engkau takdirkan. Allah Maha Besar, Allah Maha Besar, Allah Maha Besar. Aku berlindung dengan Allah, Tuhanku dan Penciptaku, Pembentukku dan Pencipta Rupabentukku dan Pemberi Rezeki sekalian manusia. Aku berlindung dengan Allah daripada sekalian kebinasaan, dan segala maksiat, bala bencana, penyakit dan segala kesakitan, kemalasan, kemunduran dan kebinasaan.

Ya Allah, lindungilah penanggung (pengguna) suratku ini dengan nama-Mu yang Maha Mulia dan Maha Agung; dan sifat-sifat-Mu yang sempurna, wahai Yang Mempunyai Kebesaran dan Kekayaan. Wahai Tuhan yang memiliki kerajaan dan alam malakut; wahai Tuhan yang memiliki keagungan dan kegagahan. Maha Suci Engkau, alangkah besarnya Engkau wahai pencipta segala langit dan bumi. Ya Allah, peliharalah aku dari kejahatan binatang buas, dan binatang yang melata, serta permusuhan (benci membenci) orang awam, dan dari kekalahan dan kejahatan syaitan; dan raja, kemarau, kemahalan barang keperluan, dan gempabumi, dan bala bencana, dan keruntuhan bangunan, dan serangan musuh. Ya Allah, peliharalah aku dari kejahatan orang-orang yang jahat dan tipudaya orang-orang yang melampau, dan dari sesuatu yang silih berganti atasnya oleh malam dan siang melainkan yang datang itu adalah dengan baik, wahai Tuhan yang Maha Pengasih lagi Maha Penyayang.

Aku berlindung dengan Engkau dari kejahatan setiap kejadian yang Engkaulah pemegang ubun-ubunnya; sesungguhnya Tuhanku di atas jalan yang tegak dan lurus. Engkau ialah Tuhanku dan di atas Engkau jua aku bertawakkal, dan Engkaulah yang Mencukupkan aku, dan sebaik-baik yang Mewakili, sebaik-baik Pemerintah dan sebaik-baik yang Memberi Pertolongan. Dan tiada daya upaya bagiku melainkan dengan Allah yang Maha Tinggi lagi Maha Agung.

Keberkatan membaca surah al-ikhlas

Ketika Memulakan Kerja
Bacalah ayat ini sebelum anda memulakan apa-apa saja kerja kerana dengan bacaan ini akan keluarlah iblis dan syaitan yang berada didalam tubuh kita dan juga di sekeliling kita, mereka akan berlari keluar umpama cacing kepanasan.

Sebelum Masuk Ke Rumah
Sebelum anda masuk rumah, bacalah surah Al-Ikhlas (sebanyak 3 kali.
Masuklah rumah dengan kaki kanan dan dengan membaca bismillah. Berilah salam kepada anggota rumah dan sekiranya tiada orang di rumah berilah salam kerana malaikat rumah akan menyahut.
Amalkanlah bersolat kerana salam pertama (ianya wajib) yang diucapkan pada akhir solat akan membantu kita menjawab persoalan kubur. Apabila malaikat memberi salam, seorang yang jarang bersolat akan sukar menjawab salam tersebut. Tetapi bagi mereka yang kerap bersolat, amalan daripada salam yang diucap di akhir solat akan menolongnya menjawab salam malaikat itu.

Ketika Sakit
Sabda Rasulullah S.A.W yang bermaksud: Barangsiapa membaca surah Al-Ikhlas sewaktu sakit sehingga dia meninggal dunia, maka dia tidak akan membusuk di dalam kuburnya, akan selamat dia dari kesempitan kuburnya dan para malaikat akan membawanya dengan sayap mereka melintasi titian siratul mustaqim lalu menuju ke syurga. Demikian diterangkan dalam Tadzikaratul Qurthuby).

Khatam al-Quran

Rasulullah SAW pernah bertanya sebuah teka-teki kepada umatnya: Siapakah antara kamu yang dapat khatam Qur'an dalam jangka masa dua-tiga minit?
Tiada seorang dari sahabatnya yang menjawab. Malah Saiyidina Ummar telah mengatakan bahawa ianya mustahil untuk mengatam Qur'an dalam begitu cepat.
Kemudiannya Saiyyidina Ali mengangkat tangannya. Saiyidina Ummar bersuara kepada Saiyidina Ali bahawa Saiyidina Ali (yang sedang kecil pada waktu itu) tidak tahu apa yang dikatakannya itu. Lantas Saiyidina Ali membaca surah Al-Ikhlas tiga kali. Rasulullah SAW menjawab dengan mengatakan bahawa Saiyidina Ali betul.
Membaca surah Al-Ikhlas sekali ganjarannya sama dengan membaca 10 jus kitab Al-Quran. Lalu dengan membaca surah Al-Ikhlas sebanyak tiga kali qatamlah Quran kerana ianya sama dengan membaca 30 jus Al-Quran.

Pahala Membacanya

Berkata Ibnu Abbas r.a. bahawa Rasulullah SAW telah bersabda: Ketika saya (Rasulullah SAW) israk ke langit, maka saya telah melihat Arasy di atas 360,000 sendi dan jarak jauh antara satu sendi ke satu sendi ialah 300,000 tahun perjalanan. Pada tiap-tiap sendi itu terdapat padang sahara sebanyak 12,000 dan luasnya setiap satu padang Sahara itu seluas dari timur hingga ke barat.
Pada setiap padang sahara itu terdapat 80,000 malaikat yang mana kesemuanya membaca surah Al-Ikhlas. Setelah mereka selesai membaca surah tersebut maka berkata mereka: Wahai Tuhan kami, sesungguhnya pahala dari bacaan kami ini kami berikan kepada orang yang membaca surah Al-Ikhlas baik ianya lelaki mahupun perempuan.
Sabda Rasulullah SAW lagi: Demi Allah yang jiwaku ditanganNya, sesungguhnya Qul Huwallahu Ahadu itu tertulis di sayap malaikat Jibrail a.s, Allahhus Somad itu tertulis di sayap malaikat Mikail a..s, Lamyalid walam yuulad tertulis pada sayap malaikat Izrail a.s, Walam yakullahu kufuwan ahadu tertulis pada sayap malaikat Israfil a..s.

Pada masa dahulu, ada sebuah negeri dimana semua rakyatnya amat RAJIN belaka tidak ada yang malas.

Jadi pada suatu hari, rajanya membuat pengumuman hendak mencari seorang yang malas. Semasa perhimpunan itu, adalah seorang lelaki mengaku

Katanya : "saya adalah yang paling malas"

Raja pun bertanya : "apa tahap malas awak?"

Lalu jawab lelaki tersebut :"kalau saya hendak makan,ada orang yang menyuapkan saya".

Tiba-tiba datang seorang lelaki lagi : "Saya lebih malas lagi dari dia tuanku".

Tuanku pun bertanya kepadanya : "sampai mana pulak tahap malas awak?"

maka jawabnya : "Kalau saya makanpun, sampai ada orang tolong kunyahkan".

Maka raja pun terdiam.....
Tanpa disangka2 datang seorang budak lelaki datang kepadanya sambil berkata:

"saya adalah yang paling malas tuanku".

Raja pun bertanya: "bagaimana pula tahap kemalasan awak?

"budak itu pun menjawab : "Nak cite pun malas".

Asal Usul Solat

SUBUH:

Orang yang pertama mengerjakan sembahyang Subuh ialah Nabi Adam a.s., iaitu tatkala baginda keluar dari syurga lalu dihantar ke bumi. Perkara pertama yang dilihatnya ialah kegelapan dan baginda berasa takut yang amat sangat. Apabila fajar Subuh telah keluar Nabi Adam a.s. pun bersembahyang dua rakaat.

Rakaat pertama:- Bersyukur baginda kerana terlepas dari kegelapan malam.

Rakaat kedua:- Bersyukur baginda kerana siang telah menjelma.

ZOHOR:

Orang yang pertama mengerjakan sembahyang Zohor ialah Nabi Ibrahim a.s., iaitu tatkala Allah s.w.t. telah memerintahkan padanya agar menyembelih anaknya Nabi Ismail a.s. Sedang seruan itu datangnya pada waktu tergelincir matahari, lalu sujudlah Nabi Ibrahim empat rakaat.

Rakaat pertama:- Bersyukur bagi penebusan.

Rakaat kedua:- Bersyukur kerana dibukakan dukacitanya dan juga anaknya.

Rakaat ketiga:- Bersyukur dan bermohon akan keredhaan Allah.

Rakaat keempat:- Bersyukur kerana korbannya digantikan dengan tebusan kibas.

ASAR:

Orang yang pertama mengerjakan sembahyang Asar ialah Nabi Yunus a.s., tatkala baginda dikeluarkan oleh Allah dari perut ikan nun. Ikan nun telah memuntahkan Nabi Yunus di tepi pantai sedang ketika itu telah masuk waktu Asar. Maka bersyukurlah Nabi Yunus lalu bersembahyang empat rakaat kerana baginda telah diselamatkan oleh Allah daripada 4 kegelapan iaitu:

Rakaat pertama:- Kelam dengan kesalahan.

Rakaat kedua:- Kelam dengan air laut.

Rakaat ketiga:- Kelam dengan malam.

Rakaat keempat:- Kelam dengan perut ikan Nun.

MAGHRIB:

Orang yang pertama mengerjakan sembahyang Maghrib ialah Nabi Isa a.s., tatkala baginda dikeluarkan oleh Allah dari kejahilan dan kebodohan kaumnya, sedang waktu itu telah terbenamnya matahari. Bersyukurlah Nabi Isa lalu bersembahyang tiga rakaat kerana diselamatkan dari kejahilan tersebut, iaitu:

Rakaat pertama:- Untuk menafikan ketuhanan selain daripada Allah yang Maha Esa.

Rakaat kedua:- Untuk menafikan tuduhan dan juga tohmahan ke atas ibunya Siti Mariam yang telah dituduh melakukan perbuatan sumbang.

Rakaat ketiga:- Untuk meyakinkan kaumnya bahawa Tuhan itu hanya satu iaitu Allah jua, tiada dua atau tiga.

ISYAK:

Orang yang pertama mengerjakan sembahyang Isyak ialah Nabi Musa a.s. Pada ketika itu Nabi Musa telah tersesat mencari jalan keluar dari negeri Madyan, sedang dalam dadanya penuh dengan perasaan dukacita. Allah lalu menghilangkan semua perasaan dukacitanya itu pada waktu Isyak yang akhir. Lalu sembahyanglah Nabi Musa empat rakaat sebagai tanda bersyukur.

Rakaat pertama:- Dukacita terhadap isterinya.

Rakaat kedua:- Dukacita terhadap saudaranya Nabi Harun.

Rakaat ketiga:- Dukacita terhadap Firaun.

Rakaat keempat:- Dukacita terhadap anak Firaun.

Girlfriend 5.0 to Wife 1.0

Dear Tech Support Team:

Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 5.0 to Wife 1.0.I soon noticed that the new program, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activities. Applications such as BachelorNights 10.3, BeerWithBuddies 7.5, and Outings 3.6 no longer runs, crashing the system whenever selected. I can't seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my favorite applications.

I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 5.0 , but the 'uninstall' doesn't work on Wife 1.0.

Please help!

Dear Troubled User:

This is a very common problem that people complain about. Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 5.0 to Wife 1.0 , thinking that it is just a Utilities and Entertainment program.

Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its Creator to run EVERYTHING!! !

It is also impossible to delete Wife 1.0 and to return to Girlfriend 5.0.

It is impossible to uninstall, or purge the program files from the system once installed.

You cannot go back to Girlfriend 5.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed not to allow this.

I recommend that you keep Wife1.0 and work on improving the environment.

I suggest installing the background application "Yes Dear" to alleviate software augmentation. The best course of action is to enter the command C:\APOLOGIZE because ultimately you will have to give the APOLOGIZE command before the system will return to normal anyway.

Wife 1.0 is a great program, but it tends to be very high maintenance.

Wife 1.0 comes with several support programs, such as Clean 2.5, Sweep 3.0, Cook 1.5 and DoLaundry 4.2.

However, be very careful how you use these programs. Improper use will cause the system to launch the program NagNag 9.5 . Once this happens, the only way to improve the performance of Wife 1.0 is to purchase additional software. I recommend Shopping 2.1 and Jewellery 5.0

STATUTORY WARNING : DO NOT, under any circumstances, install SecretaryWithShortSkirt 3.3. This application is not supported by Wife 1.0 and will cause irreversible damage to the operating system.

THE IMPORTANCE OF SOLAT-THE FIVE DAILY PRAYER

All praise is for Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Universe. We praise Him and seek His help and forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of ourselves and the wickedness of our own deeds. Whomever Allah guides, cannot be lead astray and whomever Allah does not guide, none can guide him. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone without associate, and I bear witness that Muhammad (PBUH) is His Messenger. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, his household, his companions and all those who follow them in righteousness till the Day of Judgment.

Allah the Exalted says, “Recite what is sent of the Book (Qur’an) by inspiration to thee (Muhammad) and establish Regular Prayer: for Prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds; and remembrance of Allah is the greatest (thing in life) without doubt. And Allah knows the (deeds) that you do”.” Q29:45

“Men who celebrate the praises of (remember) Allah standing, sitting and lying down on their sides and contemplate the (wonders of) creation in the heavens and the earth (with the thought): "Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose! Glory to thee! Give us salvation from the penalty of the fire.” Q3:191

"Those who believe and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah: for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction.”Q13:28
“So woe to the worshippers. Who are neglectful of their Prayers (Solat). Those who (want but) to be seen (of men). But refuse (to supply) (even) neighborly needs.” Q107:4-7

Despite the fact that Islam emphasizes that faith, righteous deeds and Allah’s Grace are needed for salvation, many Muslims have completely forgotten about righteous deeds. “If any do deeds of righteousness be they male or female and have faith they will enter heaven and not the least injustice will be done to them.” Q4:124. Allah says in Q29:45 that solat (five daily prayer) is a form of remembrance of Him, also it is to prevent us from shameful deeds. Let us examine ourselves. Is our solat doing these purposes in our life? Can someone who is conscious of Allah engages in sin again and again? Let us be careful, we should not reduce our solat and other acts of worship to mere routine activities rather we should be conscious of the goals of these acts of worship. Allah warns us in Q107:4-7.

Solat is very important in Islam. Our beloved prophet (PBUH) was reported to have said that the first righteous deed that will be examined on the Day of Judgment is the solat. And whoever fails in this will fail in other things. Solat is to be observed at prescribed periods “When you pass (congregational) prayers celebrate Allah's praises standing, sitting down or lying down on your sides; but when you are free from danger set up regular prayers: for such prayers are enjoined on believers at stated times.” (Q4:103). Do we fulfil this requirement?

We should note that remembrance of Allah is not limited to sitting down in the mosque and chanting Allahu akbar, Lailaha ila Allah, etc. It includes reading and pondering on the meaning of verses of the Holy Qur’an in the language we understand (Q3:191). Our beloved prophet (PBUH) and his companions demonstrated this. It is narrated in a hadith that the prophet (PBUH) requested one of his companions to recite verses of the Qur’an for him. The companion was reciting until he recited a verse something like, “One day We shall raise from all peoples a witness against them from amongst themselves: and We shall bring thee (Muhammad) as a witness against these (Muslims): and We have sent down to thee the Book explaining all things a guide a Mercy and glad tidings to Muslims.” (Q16:89). Our beloved prophet started crying and asked the companion to stop. Our beloved Prophet (PBUH) knew that he will give account of his leadership to Allah, this made him cry because it a great responsibility.

I urge those of us who have not read “INNER DIMENSIONS OF WORSHIP” by Imam Al-Ghazali to please get and read this book. The book explains the goals of each Islamic act of worship and how we can achieve them using the Qur’an, ahadith and sound logic. May Allah accept our acts of worship and have mercy on us.

“And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition?” (Q54:17)

أنا العبد المفرط ضاع عمري فلم أرع الشبيبة والمشيبا
أنا العبد الغريق بلج بحرٍ أصيح لربما ألقى مجيبا
أنا العبد السقيم من الخطايا وقد أقبلت ألتمس الطبيبا
أنا العبد المخلف عن أناسٍ حووا من كل معروفٍ نصيبا

أنا العبد الشرير ظلمت نفسي وقد وافيت بابكم منيبا
أنا العبد الحقير مددت كفي إليكم فادفعوا عني الخطوبا

أنا الغدار كم عاهدت عهداً وكنت على الوفى به كذوبا
أنا المهجور هل لي من شفيعٍ يكلم في الوصال لي الحبيبا

أنا المضطر أرجو منك عفواً ومن يرجو رضاك فلن يخيبا
أنا المقطوع فارحمني وصلني ويسر منك لي فرجاً قريبا

فوا أسفي على عمرٍ تقضى ولم أكسب به إلا الذنوبا
وأحذر أن يعاجلني مماتٌ يحير لهول مصرعه اللبيبا

ويا حزناه من نشري ليومٍ يجعل الولدان شيبا تفطرت السماء به
ومارت وأصبحت الجبال به كثيبا

إذا ما قمت حيراناً ظميا حسير الطرف عرياناً سليبا
ويا خجلاه من قبح اكتسابي إذا ما أبدت الصحف العيوبا

وذلة موقفٍ لحساب عدلٍ أكون به على نفسي حسيبا
ويا حذراه من نار تلظى إذا زفرت فأقلعت القلوبا

تكاد إذا بدت تنشق غيظاً على من كان معتدياً مريبا
فيا من مدّ في كسب الخطايا خطاه أما بدا لك أن تتوبا

ألا فاقلع وتب واجتهد فإنا رأينا كل مجتهدٍ مصيبا
وأقبِل صادقاً في العزم واقصد جناباً ناضراً عطراً رحيبا

وكن للصالحين أخاً وخلاً وكن في هذه الدنيا غريبا
وكن عن كل فاحشةٍ جباناً وكن في الخير مقداماً نجيبا

ولاحظ زينة الدنيا ببغضٍ تكن عبداً إلى المولى حبيبا
فمن يخبر زخارفها يجدها مخادعةً لطالبها حلوبا

وغض عن المحارم منك طرفاً طموحاً يفتن الرجل الأريبا
فخائنة العين كأسد غاب إذا ما أهملت وثبت وثوبا

ومن يغضض فضول الطرف عنها يجد في قلبه روحاً وطيبا
ولا تطلق لسانك في كلامٍ يجر عليك أحقاداً وحوبا

ولا يبرح لسانك كل وقتٍ بذكر الله ريّاناً رطيبا
وصل إذا الدجى أرخى سدولاً ولا تكن للظّلام به هيوبا

تجد أجرأ إذا أدخلت قبراً فقدت به المعاشر والنسيبا
وصم مهما استطعت تجده رياً إذا ما قمت ظمآناً سغيبا

وكن متصدقاً سراُ وجهراً ولا تبخل وكن سمحاً
وهوبا تجد ما قدمته يداك ظلاً عليك إذا اشتكى الناس الكروبا

وكن حسن الخلائق ذا حياء طليق الوجه لا شكساً
قطوبا فيا مولاي جد بالعفو وارحم عبيداً لم يزل يشكي الذنوبا

وسامح هفوتي وأجب دعائي فإنك لم تزل أبداً مجيبا
وشفِّع فيّ خير الخلق طراً نبياً لم يزل أبداً حبيبا

هو الهادي المشفّع في البرايا
وكان لهم رحيماً مستجيبا عليه من المهمين كل
وقتٍ صلاة تملأ الأكوان طيبا

ياعين فلتبكي ولتذرفي الدمع ذنبا أحاط القلب وأضغى له سمعا
رباه فاغفر لي رباه فاغفر لي أين الدموع على الخدين قد سالت

فالنفس للعصيان يا ربي قد مالت رباه فاغفر لي
هل ياترى أصحو من سكرة الشهوه؟ أم ياترى ابقى في هوة الشقوى

Menentukan Cinta kerana Allah

Cinta yang hakiki yang didasarkan kerana Allah semata-mata, ialah bila anda mencintai seseorang bukan kerana peribadinya, malah kerana kelebihan-kelebihannya yang bergantung dengan keakhiratannya. Misal cinta itu ialah: Seseorang yang mencintai gurunya sebab menerusi guru itu ia akan memperolehi ilmu pengetahuan yang akan memperbaiki amalannya. Sedang tujuan utama dari menuntut ilmu pengetahuan dan amalan yang baik itu, ialah keselamatan diri di Hari Akhirat. Inilah yang dikatakan antara contoh-contoh cinta kerana Allah semata-mata.

Misal yang lain ialah: Seorang guru mencintai muridnya, sebab kepadanya guru itu dapat menurunkan ilmu pengetahuan dan dengan sebab itu pula guru itu memperoleh pangkat seorang pendidik atau guru. Orang ini juga, dikira cintanya kerana Allah semata-mata. Begitu pula orang yang bersedekah dengan harta bendanya kerana menuntut keredhaan Allah, atau orang yang suka mengundang tetamu di rumahnya, lalu menghidangkan berbagai-bagai makanan yang lazat, semata-mata kerana ingin mendekatkan diri kepada Allah Ta’ala. Kemudian lahirlah dalam diri orang itu perasaan sayang dan kasih terhadap tukang masaknya, kerana kemahirannya untuk menyediakan makanan-makanan yang lazat; cinta ini juga dikira sebagai cinta kerana Allah.

Misal lain lagi ialah misal seorang yang suka menyampaikan sedekah kepada orang-orang yang memerlukannya, maka perilakunya itu dikira sebagai cinta kerana Allah juga. Ataupun orang yang mencintai pekerja yang membantu mencuci pakaiannya, membersihkan rumahnya, dan memasak makanannya, yang mana dengan terlepasnya ia dari tugas-tugas ini, senanglah ia dapat menuntut ilmu atau membuat pekerjaan yang lain, sedang tujuan utama dari mempekerjakan orang itu semata-mata kerana melapangkan diri untuk memperbanyakkan ibadat, maka ia juga terkira pencinta kerana Allah.

Begitu juga ia mencintai seorang kerana orang itu mencukupkan keperluannya dari wang dan pakaian, makanan dan rumah dan lain-lain keperluan yang mesti untuk kehidupan di dunia, sedang maksud orang yang menderma itu ialah supaya ia dapat melapangkan diri untuk menuntut ilmu pengetahuan yang berguna, sambil melakukan amalan-amalan yang mendekatkan diri kepada Allah Ta’ala maka cintanya itu dikira kerana Allah Ta’ala jua.

Segolongan para Salaf Saleh yang terdahulu, sering segala keperluannya ditanggung oleh hartawan-hartawan yang murah hati. Jadi dalam hal ini, kedua-dua pihak tergolong pencinta-pencinta yang mencari keredhaan Allah Ta’ala.

Juga, jika seseorang itu menikahi seorang wanita yang salehah untuk melindungi dari godaan syaitan, serta memelihara agamanya, atau untuk menginginkan seorang anak yang saleh dari pernikahan itu, ataupun dia mencintai isterinya kerana menerusinya ia dapat sampai kepada tujuan-tujuan yang suci, seperti misal-misal yang disebutkan di atas tadi, maka ia adalah seorang pencinta kerana Allah Ta’ala.

Demikian pula, jika seseorang itu dalam hatinya tersemat cinta kerana Allah dan dunia, seperti seorang yang mencintai guru yang mendidiknya, lalu ia pun mencukupkan segala keperluan guru itu di dunia dengan wang dan sebagainya, maka ia dikira orang yang mencintai kerana Allah.

Seterusnya, bukanlah dari syarat-syarat cinta kerana Allah Ta’ala itu, ia mesti tinggalkan semua nasibnya dari harta kekayaan dunia sama sekali, sebab para Nabi salawatullahi alaihim sering menyeru kita berdoa, agar Allah s.w.t. mencukupkan kedua-dua keperluan dunia dan akhirat.

“Wahai Tuhan kami! Berikanlah kepada kami kebaikan di dunia dan kebaikan di akhirat.” (al-Baqarah: 201)

Juga dalam doa yang ma’tsur berbunyi:

“Ya Allah! Ya Tuhanku! Sesungguhnya aku memohon daripadaMu kerahmatan yang dengannya aku boleh memperoleh pangkat kehormatanMu di dunia dan di akhirat.”

Bila kecintaan seseorang kepada Allah telah menjadi kukuh, niscaya akan muncul wataknya perasaan suka membantu dan menolong serta mengutamakan orang lain dari diri sendiri, bersedia untuk membelanjakan segala yang dimilikinya dari harta, jiwa dan nasihat yang baik.

Dalam hal ini manusia adalah berbeda menurut perbedaan darjat kecintaannya terhadap Allah azzawajalla. Ia akan dicuba dalam kecintaannya itu dengan berbagai-bagai percubaan yang bertalian dengan kepentingan-kepentingan dirinya, sehingga ada kalanya semua kepentingan itu sudah tidak ada yang tinggal lagi, semuanya telah dibelanjakan bagi kepentingan orang yang dicintainya itu, Terkadang-kadang ditentukan sebahagian untuk diri sendiri, manakala yang lain diberikan kepada orang-orang yang dicintainya.

Tidak kurang juga, orang yang membahagikan harta kekayaannya kepada dua, satu bahagian untuk dirinya dan satu bahagian lagi untuk kekasihnya, ada yang memberikan sepertiga dari harta kekayaan, dan ada sepersepuluh dan seterusnya. Banyak atau sedikit wang yang dibelanjakan itu bergantung pada rasa cintanya terhadap orang itu, sebab tidak dapat ditentukan darjat cinta itu, melainkan dengan kadar harta yang dibelanjakan kepada para kekasihnya. Maka barangsiapa hatinya telah dipenuhi oleh rasq cinta kerana Allah, tidak ada benda-benda lain yang masih dicintakan lagi, selain dari cintanya kepada Allah semata-mata. Ketika itu tidak akan meninggalkan sesuatu benda pun dari harta kekayaannya, melainkan semuanya dibelanjakan kerana Allah s.w.t.

Contoh dalam misal ini, ialah Saiyidina Abu Bakar as-Siddiq (Khalifah Islam pertama), beliau telah menyerahkan puterinya Aisyah (untuk dikahwinkan kepada Rasulullah s.a.w. – pent), sedangkan aisyah itu cahaya matanya kemudian dibelanjakan semua harta bendanya kerana Allah s.w.t.

Dengan itu disimpulkan, bahwasanya sesiapa yang mencintai seorang alim atau’ abid, ataupun dia mencintai penuntut ilmu pengetahuan atau orang yang sepanjang masanya beribadat atau membuat kebaikan, maka yakinlah bahawasanya ia mencintainya itu kerana Allah dan untuk Allah dan tentulah ia akan mendapat ganjaran pahala dan kurnia dari Allah Ta’ala menurut kadar kekuatan cintanya itu.

Gambaran Hari Kiamat

- Selepas Malaikat Israfil meniup sangkakala (bentuknya seperti tanduk besar) yang memekakkan telinga, seluruh makhluk mati kecuali Izrail & beberapa malaikat yang lain. Selepas itu, Izrail pun mencabut nyawa malaikat yang tinggal dan akhirnya nyawanya sendiri.

- Selepas semua makhluk mati, Tuhan pun berfirman mafhumnya “Kepunyaan siapakah kerajaan hari ini?” Tiada siapa yang menjawab. Lalu Dia sendiri menjawab dengan keagunganNya “Kepunyaan Allah Yang Maha Esa lagi Maha Perkasa.” Ini menunjukkan kebesaran & keagunganNya sebagai Tuhan yg Maha Kuasa lagi Maha Kekal Hidup, tidak mati.

- Selepas 40 tahun, Malaikat Israfil a.s. dihidupkan, seterusnya meniup sangkakala untuk kali ke-2, lantas seluruh makhluk hidup semula di atas bumi putih, berupa padang Mahsyar (umpama padang Arafah) yang rata tidak berbukit atau bulat seperti bumi.

- Sekelian manusia hidup melalui benih anak Adam yg disebut “Ajbuz Zanbi” yang berada di hujung tulang belakang mereka. Hiduplah manusia umpama anak pokok yang kembang membesar dari biji benih.

- Semua manusia dan jin dibangkitkan dalam keadaan telanjang dan hina. Mereka tidak rasa malu kerana pada ketika itu hati mereka sangat takut dan bimbang tentang nasib & masa depan yang akan mereka hadapi kelak.

- Lalu datanglah api yang berterbangan dengan bunyi seperti guruh yang menghalau manusia, jin dan binatang ke tempat perhimpunan besar. Bergeraklah mereka menggunakan tunggangan (bagi yang banyak amal), berjalan kaki (bagi yang kurang amalan) dan berjalan dengan muka (bagi yang banyak dosa). Ketika itu, ibu akan lupakan anak, suami akan lupakan isteri, setiap manusia sibuk memikirkan nasib mereka.

- Setelah semua makhluk dikumpulkan, matahari dan bulan dihapuskan cahayanya, lalu mereka tinggal dalam kegelapan tanpa cahaya. Berlakulah huru-hara yang amat dahsyat.

- Tiba-tiba langit yang tebal pecah dengan bunyi yang dahsyat, lalu turunlah malaikat sambil bertasbih kepada Allah SWT. Seluruh makhluk terkejut melihat saiz malaikat yang besar dan suaranya yang menakutkan.

- Kemudian matahari muncul semula dengan kepanasan yang berganda. Hingga dirasakan seakan-akan matahari berada sejengkal dari atas kepala mereka. Ulama berkata jika matahari naik di bumi seperti keadaannya naik dihari Kiamat nescaya seluruh bumi terbakar, bukit-bukau hancur dan sungai menjadi kering. Lalu mereka rasai kepanasan dan bermandikan peluh sehingga peluh mereka menjadi lautan. Timbul atau tenggelam mereka bergantung pada amalan masing-masing. Keadaan mereka berlanjutan sehingga 1000 tahun.

- Terdapat satu telaga kepunyaan Nabi Muhammad SAW bernama Al-Kausar yang mengandungi air yang hanya dapat diminum oleh orang mukmin sahaja. Orang bukan mukmin akan dihalau oleh malaikat yang menjaganya. Jika diminum airnya tidak akan haus selama-lamanya. Kolam ini berbentuk segi empat tepat sebesar satu bulan perjalanan. Bau air kolam ini lebih harum dari kasturi, warnanya lebih putih dari susu dan rasanya lebih sejuk dari embun. Ia mempunyai saluran yang mengalir dari syurga.

- Semua makhluk berada bawah cahaya matahari yang terik kecuali 7 golongan yang mendapat teduhan dari Arasy. Mereka ialah:

1- Pemimpin yang adil.

2- Orang muda yang taat kepada perintah Allah.

3- Lelaki yang terikat hatinya dengan masjid.

4- Dua orang yang bertemu kerana Allah dan berpisah kerana Allah.

5- Lelaki yang diajak oleh wanita berzina, tetapi dia menolak dengan berkata “Aku takut pada Allah”.

6- Lelaki yg bersedekah dengan bersembunyi (tidak diketahui orang ramai).

7- Lelaki yang suka bersendirian mengingati Allah lalu mengalir air matanya kerana takutkan Allah.

- Oleh kerana tersangat lama menunggu di padang mahsyar, semua manusia tidak tahu berbuat apa melainkan mereka yang beriman, kemudian mereka terdengar suara “pergilah berjumpa dengan para Nabi”. Maka mereka pun pergi mencari para Nabi. Pertama sekali kumpulan manusia ini berjumpa dengan Nabi Adam tetapi usaha mereka gagal kerana Nabi Adam a.s menyatakan beliau juga ada melakukan kesalahan dengan Allah SWT. Maka kumpulan besar itu kemudiannya berjumpa Nabi Nuh a.s., Nabi Ibrahim a.s., Nabi Musa a.s., Nabi Isa a.s. (semuanya memberikan sebab seperti Nabi Adam a.s.) dan akhirnya mereka berjumpa Rasullullah SAW. Jarak masa antara satu nabi dengan yang lain adalah 1000 tahun perjalanan.

- Lalu berdoalah baginda Nabi Muhammad SAW ke hadrat Allah SWT. Lalu diperkenankan doa baginda.

- Selepas itu, terdengar bunyi pukulan gendang yang kuat hingga menakutkan hati semua makhluk kerana mereka sangka azab akan turun. Lalu terbelah langit, turunlah arasy Tuhan yang dipikul oleh 8 orang malaikat yang sangat besar (besarnya sejarak perjalanan 20 ribu tahun) sambil bertasbih dengan suara yang amat kuat sehingga ‘Arasy itu tiba dibumi.

- ‘Arasy ialah jisim nurani yang amat besar berbentuk kubah (bumbung bulat) yang mempunyai 4 batang tiang yang sentiasa dipikul oleh 4 orang malaikat yang besar dan gagah. Dalam bahasa mudah ia seumpama istana yang mempunyai seribu bilik yang menempatkan jutaan malaikat di dalamnya. Ia dilingkungi embun yang menghijab cahayanya yang sangat kuat.

- Kursi iaitu jisim nurani yang terletak di hadapan Arasy yang dipikul oleh 4 orang malaikat yang sangat besar. Saiz kursi lebih kecil dari ‘Arasy umpama cincin ditengah padang. Dalam bahasa mudah ia umpama singgahsana yang terletak dihadapan istana.

- Seluruh makhluk pun menundukkan kepala kerana takut. Lalu dimulakan timbangan amal. Ketika itu berterbanganlah kitab amalan masing-masing turun dari bawah Arasy menuju ke leher pemiliknya tanpa silap dan tergantunglah ia sehingga mereka dipanggil untuk dihisab. Kitab amalan ini telah ditulis oleh malaikat Hafazhah / Raqib & ‘Atid / Kiraman Katibin.

- Manusia beratur dalam saf mengikut Nabi dan pemimpin masing- masing. Orang kafir & munafik beratur bersama pemimpin mereka yang zalim. Setiap pengikut ada tanda mereka tersendiri untuk dibezakan.

- Umat yang pertama kali dihisab adalah umat Nabi Muhammad SAW, dan amalan yang pertama kali dihisab adalah solat. Sedangkan hukum yang pertama kali diputuskan adalah perkara pertumpahan darah.

- Apabila tiba giliran seseorang hendak dihisab amalannya, malaikat akan mencabut kitab mereka lalu diserahkan, lalu pemiliknya mengambil dengan tangan kanan bagi orang mukmin dan dengan tangan kiri jika orang bukan mukmin.

- Semua makhluk akan dihisab amalan mereka menggunakan satu Neraca Timbangan. Saiznya amat besar, mempunyai satu tiang yang mempunyai lidah dan 2 daun. Daun yang bercahaya untuk menimbang pahala dan yang gelap untuk menimbang dosa.

- Acara ini disaksikan oleh Nabi Muhammad SAW dan para imam 4 mazhab untuk menyaksikan pengikut masing-masing dihisab.

- Perkara pertama yang diminta ialah Islam. Jika dia bukan Islam, maka seluruh amalan baiknya tidak ditimbang bahkan amalan buruk tetap akan ditimbang.

- Ketika dihisab, mulut manusia akan dipateri, tangan akan berkata- kata, kaki akan menjadi saksi. Tiada dolak-dalih dan hujah tipuan. Semua akan di adili oleh Allah Ta’ala dengan Maha Bijaksana.

- Setelah amalan ditimbang, mahkamah Mahsyar dibuka kepada orang ramai untuk menuntut hak masing-masing dari makhluk yang sedang dibicara sehinggalah seluruh makhluk berpuas hati dan dibenarkannya menyeberangi titian sirat.

- Syafaat Nabi Muhammad SAW di akhirat :

1- Meringankan penderitaan makhluk di Padang Mahsyar dengan mempercepatkan hisab.

2- Memasukkan manusia ke dalam syurga tanpa hisab.

3- Mengeluarkan manusia yang mempunyai iman sebesar zarah dari neraka. (Semua syafaat ini tertakluk kepada keizinan Allah SWT.)

- Para nabi dan rasul serta golongan khawas juga diberikan izin oleh Tuhan untuk memberi syafaat kepada para pengikut mereka. Mereka ini berjumlah 70 000. Setiap seorang dari mereka akan mensyafaatkan 70 000 orang yang lain.

- Setelah berjaya dihisab, manusia akan mula berjalan menuju syurga melintasi jambatan sirat. Siratul Mustaqim ialah jambatan (titian) yang terbentang dibawahnya neraka. Lebar jambatan ini adalah seperti sehelai rambut yang dibelah tujuh dan ia lebih tajam dari mata pedang. Bagi orang mukmin ia akan dilebarkan dan dimudahkan menyeberanginya.

- Fudhail bin Iyadh berkata perjalanan di Sirat memakan masa 15000 tahun. 5000 tahun menaik, 5000 tahun mendatar dan 5000 tahun menurun. Ada makhluk yang melintasinya seperti kilat, seperti angin, menunggang binatang korban dan berjalan kaki. Ada yang tidak dapat melepasinya disebabkan api neraka sentiasa menarik kaki mereka, lalu mereka jatuh ke dalamnya.

- Para malaikat berdiri di kanan dan kiri sirat mengawasi setiap makhluk yang lalu. Setiap 1000 orang yang meniti sirat, hanya seorang sahaja yang Berjaya melepasinya. 999 orang akan terjatuh ke dalam neraka. Repentence

"The state of repentance, tawbah, is at the beginning, the middle and the end of all states of submission to the will of Allah. The servant who seeks the pleasure of Allah never abandons tawbah. No one can hope for success, except: those who make tawbah. Allah says: "And those who do not make tawbah are indeed the dhaalimoon (wrongdoers)." (49:11)" [Imam Ibn ul Qayyim]

Obligatory Conditions for Hijab

1. Covering all of the body

It is an agreed position by many respected scholars that the face and hands of the woman must [in addition to everything else] be covered. Some scholars say it is permissible to uncover the face and the hands of the woman as long as there is no fitnah (infatuation) caused by this action. Two things must be taken into consideration:

a) if she is beautiful and beautifies her face and hands with external substances, or

b) if the society around her is corrupt where men do not lower their gaze

Then it is prohibited for her [in both these scenarios] to uncover her face and hands.

On the authority of the wife of the Prophet salla Allahu alayhi wasallam, Umm Salama radiya Allahu anha said:

“When the verse {That they should cast their outer garments over their persons} [33:59] was revealed, the women of the Ansar came out as if they had crows over their heads.” [Sahih Abi Dawud]

2.The hijab must not be a display

The hijab itself must not be a display. Allah ordained it so as to cover the beauty of women and not for showing off. Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala says,

“And not show of their adornment except only that which is apparent.” [24:31]

He also says,

“And stay in your houses and do not display yourselves like that of the times of ignorance.” [33:33]

It is in no way logical that the hijab itself be a source of display.

3. The hijab must not be transparent

The purpose of wearing hijab must be achieved. In order for the hijab to be a cover, it must not be made of transparent material making the woman covered only by name, while in reality she is naked. The Prophet salla Allahu alayhi wasallam is quoted as saying,

“During the last days of my ummah there will be women who are clothed but naked, with something on their heads like the humps of camels. Curse them, for they are cursed.” Another hadeeth adds: “They will not enter Paradise or even smell its fragrance, although its fragrance can be detected from such and such a distance.” [Narrated by Muslim]

This indicates that a woman could cause herself a grave and destructive sin if she puts on a garment that is thin and transparent and which clearly shapes her body’s features.

4. Hijab must be loose, and not tight

The hijab is a safeguard against fitnah. If it is tight, it will be descriptive of the woman’s body and this violates and defeats the whole purpose of hijab.

5.The hijab must not be perfumed

On the authority of Ad’Diya Al-Maqdisi, the Prophet salla Allahu alayhi wasallam said:

“Any woman who perfumes herself and passes by some people that they smell her scent, then she is a zaniyah (adulteress).” [Sahih an-Nasaa'i]

6. The hijab shouldn’t resemble the dress of a man

Imam Ahmed and an-Nasaa’i reported the Prophet salla Allahu alayhi wasallam to have said:

“Women who assume the manners of men are not from us and also those of men who assume the manners of women.” [Sahih al-Jami']

Further, Abu Huraira narrated that:

“The Prophet salla Allahu alayhi wasallam cursed the man who wears the dress of a woman and the woman who wears the dress of a man.” [Sahih Abi Dawood]

7. The hijab must not resemble the garments of the kuffar

Abu Dawoud and Ahmed have related that the Prophet salla Allahu alayhi wasallam said:

“The one who take the similitude (manner) of a certain people, then he/she becomes one of them.” [Sahih Abi Dawood]

Abdullah bin Umar radiya Allahu anhu said:

“The Prophet salla Allahu alayhi wasallam saw me wearing two garments dyed in saffron (orange), whereupon he said: ‘These are the clothes (usually worn) by the kuffar, so do not wear them.’” [Sahih Muslim]

8.The hijab should not be for fame

Abu Dawoud and Ibn Majah have related the prophet to saying:

“The one who wears a garment designed for a worldly fame, Allah will make them wear a garment of humility on the Day Of Resurrection then he will be set ablaze.” [Musnad Ahmad, and it is Sahih]

The garment of fame is any garment a person wears to make themselves look famous. This applies whether the garment is highly precious and shows admiration to the life of this world or if it is chosen of a low quality to show lack of interest to this worldly life. The person may put on clothes with distinct colours so as to draw attention, act proudly and/or arrogantly.

Concealed ways of display: Examining the various conditions about the hijab one can clearly recognize that many of the young Muslim women are not fulfilling these conditions. Many just take “half-way” measures, which not only mocks the community in which she lives, but also mocks the commands of Allah sunbhanahu wa ta’ala. They consider what they put on now wrongly as “hijab.” So, O Muslims, be mindful to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala and His Messenger salla Allahu alayhi wasallam, and do not deceived by those who “bless” this action of yours and conceal their true intentions.

If you are sincere in achieving Jannah, then be mindful of these things, insha’Allah.

True Story: Why Was My Iman Low ?

Many years ago, I was in front of the computer.

I kept going back and forth, back and forth to the computer to check if my Pre Calculus grade was posted yet or not.

I just kept thinking to myself, “ I have to get an A, I have to get an A, I have to get A”.
I was becoming a bit crazy. Day after day, my other grades were being posted, except for the Pre-Calculus grade. I was becoming very impatient.

Who would ever have guessed that during this time, Allaah would guide me to understanding a great lesson of life.

As I was saying, I kept jumping in and out if front of the computer waiting for my grade. I started to get very worried and distressed. “ What if I don’t get an A?..” I kept thinking to myself. I replayed in my mind how I performed in the final over and over, and kept thinking about the questions that I thought were a little confusing.

I don’t remember if at that moment, I told myself that the grade in this test doesn’t determine my status in the Akhirah, the hereafter. I didn’t question why I was getting so distressed.

Why did I get so distressed for things with the dunya so much ? Why ?

Why is this dunya so important for me ? is this something between Heaven and Hell ?

If I did receive an A, would that gain me rewards or would I gain Allaah’s love and pleasure?

All of my other grades were in the “A” range, and I had to find out what I got for math. The thought of not getting an “A” was choking me.

As I sat in front of the computer, waiting and waiting.. I fell across the story of Hajir online in the book “ The Ideal Muslimah” .

Ironically, the very first statements of the book were : “ The Believing Woman is Alert
One of the most prominent distinguishing features of the Muslim woman is her deep faith in Allah (SWT), and her sincere conviction that whatever happens in this universe, and whatever fate befalls human beings, only happens through the will and decree of Allah (SWT); whatever befalls a person could not have been avoided, and whatever does not happen to a person could not have been made to happen. A person has no choice in this life but to strive towards the right path and to do good deeds - acts of worship and other acts - by whatever means one can, putting all his trust in Allah (SWT), submitting to His will, and believing that he is always in need of Allah's (SWT) help and support.”

After I read these statements, I felt terrible about how I had been acting.

Why didn’t I have full trust and conviction in Allaah ?

I studied hard for the test and the rest is up to Allaah. Why was I getting so distressed about something of this dunya ?

Did I ever act this way regarding my prayers ?

Did I ever act this way for the fact that I didn’t wear the complete hijab ?

Did I ever act this way because I didn’t honor my parents enough ?

Did I ever get this distressed because I don’t have enough knowledge of Islam?

As I continued to read, it had the story of Hajir. How Hajir was left by Prophet Ibrahim ( peace be upon him ) in the middle of the desert with their young baby.

The book had the statements: “ Hajar had no-one with her except her infant son Isma`il. She asked Ibrahim, calmly and with no trace of panic: "Has Allah (SWT) commanded you to do this, O Ibrahim?" Ibrahim ( peace be upon him )said, "Yes." Her response reflected her acceptance and optimism: "Then He is not going to abandon us." “

After I read the few sentences of the book, all my senses opened up. Not only that, my heart opened.
How do I know that ? Because I started to cry. I cried and cried about how low my iman was.

Astaghfirullah, look at the way I was acting. I was waiting for a simple math grade, and I was going crazy with no patience ! Look at Hajir, left in the middle of the desert with no food and no water and she had complete trust and faith in Allaah ! “

I realized that my iman was low. Where do I stand compared to women like Hajir ? Where do I stand compared to Asiya when she was being tortured by her husband , Fir’awn, and still had patience ? Where do I stand compared to Ayiesha when she was being wrongly slandered and rumors were spreading about her ? Where do I stand compared to Mariam when she had the miracle child without a father and had to face the people ? Why was my iman so low ? Why did I often find myself becoming extremely distressed and impatient for the things in this dunya ?

Sometime later, I discovered that I did get an “A” on Pre Calculus.
“What was all the fuss about ?” I think to myself. “ What if I didn’t get an “A” ? So what ? I could try harder next time. “
Why didn’t I have patience as Allaah has commanded us to have?

After that period in my life, I started to work harder on my prayers, wearing hijab correctly, learning Islam, and etc.

I finally started to try my best to putting Allaah first before everything else. Brothers and Sisters, don’t forget what Allaah states in the Quran: “And whosoever fears Allaah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine...” [al-Talaaq 65:2,3].

Look at how Allaah provided for Hajir at that time ! Her response to her husband at that difficult moment was that Allaah wouldn’t abandon her family. Allaahuakbar ! How many of us respond like that at times of distress ?

Brothers and Sisters, don’t put the dunya before the Akhirah. Remember, if you do something for the pleasure of Allaah, Allaah will take care of you. We will always find ourselves in difficult situations, which is not a surprise because this is the dunya.

Insha’Allaah , let’s strive our best to struggle in worshiping Allaah according to the Qur’aan and authentic Sunnah. That is true success. Insha’Allaah, in Jannah, everything will be perfect. Remember, our goal is pleasure in Jannah, not pleasure in this dunya.

I try to remember this statement I had heard in a lecture, “ Islam should not revolve around your life, your life should revolve around Islam. “

Two Types of Intentions

Make the Best Intentions for Allah✦ "The degree to which a person is helped and aided by Allah depends on the degree of his intention, drive, aim and hopes. Help from Allah comes to people in proportion to their drive, intention, hopes and fears; and failure comes to them in a like manner." [Ibn al-Qayyim]

Intention (niyyah) is an important matter, as it is the spirit of deeds through which deeds become valid, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Actions are but by intentions and each person will have but that which he intended.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (1) and Muslim (1907).

The intention turns permissible deeds into acts or worship, hence we should pay attention to it and make it for the sake of Allaah, free from any element of showing off.

It should be noted that intentions are of two types:

1 – Obligatory intention, without which an act of worship is not valid, such as the intention in doing wudoo’, praying, paying zakaah, fasting and doing Hajj. This intention is something that no one can do without. If a person does wudoo’ to pray, touch the Mus-haf or in order to be pure (taahir), he has formed the intention. Intending to pray or intending to remove impurity is forming the intention when doing wudoo’.

When a man stands to pray, knowing that this is Zuhr prayer, for example, and he intends to offer the prayer and gets up to do it it, then he has formed the intention. It is not essential – and in fact it is not prescribed – to say out loud, “I intend to pray Zuhr prayer” etc, as some people do. This was not narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and the place for the intention is in theheart.

Similarly, if a person decides at night that he will fast on the following day, then he has formed the intention of fasting. In fact, his eating sahoor shows that he is intending to fast.

It is difficult for a person to forget to form the intention in such cases.

2 – The second type of intention is that which is mustahabb in order to attain reward. This is what some people forget, which is to keep the intention in mind when doing permissible things, so that they will be acts of worship, such as eating, drinking and sleeping with the intention of strengthening oneself to do acts of worship, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “You will never spend anything that you spend for the sake of Allaah, but you will be rewarded for it, even the morsel of food that you put in your wife’s mouth.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (56).

Mu’aadh (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: I sleep and I get up (to pray at night), and I seek reward for my sleep as I seek reward for my getting up. Narrated by al-Bukhaari (4088).

He (may Allaah be pleased with him) sought reward for his sleep just as he sought reward for his getting up to pray at night, because he intended by sleeping to gain strength to do acts of worship.

Al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar said in al-Fath: What this means is that he sought reward by resting just as he sought reward by striving, because if the intention in resting is to enable one to do acts of worship, one attains reward. End quote.

What helps to keep this intention in mind is deliberating, thinking and not being hasty. So you should think about what you are intending to do, take stock of yourself before acting, think about whether it is halaal or haraam, then look at your intention: what do you want from this? Every time you take stock of yourself and think before acting, this will remind you about forming the intention, until it becomes second nature and a habit that you adopt, so that you will not enter or exit, eat or drink, give or withhold, without having an intention in doing so, thus most of your time will become times of worship.

We ask Allaah to help us and you to do that.

Etiquettes of A Husband (29 Tips)

The family is that brick which forms the foundation of a society. It is composed of individuals that have permanent relations established between them. Most importantly, it possesses almost a majority of the different kinds of personal relations.

Because of this, there must be certain etiquettes placed in order to control and regulate these relations. This is such that it can be maintained in the best possible manner, and so that it can generate and produce its proper fruits. Family relations consist of the relationship between the spouses from one perspective, the relationship between the parents and the children from a second perspective, and the relationship between the children themselves from a third perspective.

Etiquettes of the husband:

1. It is not from the deficiencies, but rather from good manners, that the husband shares in the responsibility of specified matters, such as the mending of garments or what is similar to that.

2. It is appropriate for a man to not restrict himself from serving himself. This is since the wife takes care of the household affairs. So therefore, it is from good manners that the husband extend a helping hand to his wife in the house, during times of necessity, such as when she is sick, pregnant, has given birth or similar to that.

3. The exemplary husband is he who cooperates with his wife by bearing good relations and showing kind manners (to her), according to the full extent of the meaning contained in these (last) two expressions. Truly, the husbands who are best at working alongside their wives are the best of mankind in the view of Islaam. This good way of living between the spouses must be deeply imbedded into the daily marital life, even at the time of divorce.

4. Beware of characterizing the relationship between the spouses with over-seriousness! For indeed characterizing the family life with a militaristic nature amounts to one of the causes for failure and bad results.

5. From the kind and noble manners of the husband is that he complies and assents to the requests of his wife, so long as they are not forbidden in the Religion. And being luxurious in food, drink and clothing is at the entrance of matters forbidden in the Religion.

6. The husband should specify a time in which he can play around and pass free time with his wife.

7. The relationship between the spouses must contain one singular and specific nature. And it cannot be this way unless the couple begins demolishing all the obstacles and impediments that stand between them. For example, the husband should not feel timid and restrain himself from drinking out of the same cup that his wife drinks out of.

8. There is no human being that is perfect. So there is no doubt that the husband will see things in his wife that does not comply with his natural disposition and preferences. If these aspects are not in opposition to the fundaments of the Religion or to the obedience of the husband and his rights, then at that point, he should not try to change her personality so that it complies with his natural preference.

9. And he must always remember that for each member of the couple, there will be an aspect of ones personality that conflicts with the others personality. And he should also remember that if there are some characteristics that he doesn't find pleasing in his wife, then indeed she has other characteristics, which will definitely be pleasing to him.

10. Do not let Ramadaan be a barrier that impedes you from showing affection to your wife, such as by kissing her. But this is so long as you are able to refrain yourself, since what is forbidden during the days of Ramadaan is only sexual intercourse.

11. Do not chase after the errors of your wife and recount them to her, for too much blaming and reprimanding will worsen the relationship between the two of you, and it will pose a threat to your marital life. So overlook your wife's easy ability to make mistakes, and make her falling into them seem like something small.

12. If you are able, do not hold back from providing your wife with good clothing and food, and from being generous in spending money on her. This is of course according to the extent of your ability.

13. Do not give little importance to implementing the punishment required for any acts in opposition to the Religion, which your wife has committed, whether it is in the home or outside it. This should be the main reason that causes you to become angry, thus no other reason should affect you (besides this one).

14. What has been stated previously does not mean that you should leave matters alone until that result comes to happen. Thus, whenever you realize that a matter is left alone, weigh it with seriousness and determination, without being too harsh or rude about it.

15. The woman is the head of the household, the one responsible for it. So do not attempt to meddle into affairs that do not fall into your area of duties and responsibilities, such as the food and the order of the house.

16. Beware of scolding your wife or blaming her for a mistake she committed, in the presence of others, even if they are your own children. For indeed that is an act that goes against correct behavior and it will lead to raising anger in the hearts of people.

17. If you are forced to place punishment upon your wife, then let it be by staying away from her at bedtime. And do not boycott her except that it is done within the household. And avoid using foul language, insulting her, beating her and describing her with repulsive names. For these matters do not befit an exemplary husband.

18. Having jealousy and caring about the modesty of your wife is a praiseworthy thing, which shows your love for her. However it is on the condition that you do not go to great extremes in this jealousy. For then at that point, it would turn into something worthy of no praise.

19. Entering the house: Do not alarm your family by entering upon them suddenly. Rather, enter while they are aware of it, and greet them with Salaam. And ask about them and how they are doing. And do not forget to remember Allaah, the Mighty and Sublime, when you enter the house.

20. Beware of spreading any secrets connected with the intimate encounters you have with your wife, for that is something restricted and forbidden.

21. Constantly maintain the cleaning of your mouth and the freshening of your breath.

22. Guardianship of your wife doesn't mean that you can exploit what Allaah has bestowed upon you from taking charge of her, such that you harm and oppress her.

23. Showing respect and kindness to your wife's family is showing respect and kindness to her. And this applies even after her death, on the condition that it is not accompanied by an act forbidden in the Religion, such as intermingling of the sexes or being in privacy (with them).

24. Too much joking will lead to (your family having) little fear (of disobeying you) and a lack of respect for you. So do not joke too much with your wife.

25. Be considerate that fulfilling the conditions which you promised to your wife during the pre-marriage agreement is a matter possessing the highest of importance and priority. So do not neglect that after getting married.

26. When you lecture your wife or reprimand her or simply speak to her, choose the kindest and nicest of words and expressions for your speech. And do not reprimand her in front of others or in front of your children.

27. It is not proper for you to ask your wife to look for work outside of the house or to spend upon you from her wealth.

28. Do not overburden your wife with acts that she is not able to handle. Consider, with extreme regard, the environment she was raised up in. Rural service is not like urban service, and the service of a strong woman and her preparation for it is not like the service of a weak woman.

29. There is nothing in the obligation of a woman's service to her husband that negates his assisting her in that regard, if he should find the free time. Rather, this is from the good manners of living between the spouses.

A Bedouin and the Old Man

When passing through a mountain pass, a bedouin once came across an old man who was blind and who seemed to be afflicted with various ailments all over his body. It was clear that he was wasting away. He was even paralyzed and was constantly forced to remain in a seated position. The Bedouin could clearly hear him say, "All praise is for Allah, Who has kept me safe from ailments with which He has tesed many among His creation; and He has indeed preferred me over many among those that He created."

"My brother!" exclaimed the bedouin. "What have you been saved from? By Allah, I think that you have been afflicted with every single kind of ailment!"

"Go away from me," said the old man, as he raised his head. "Do I not still have a tongue with which I can pronounce His Oneness, and with which I can remember Him every single moment? And do I not still have a heart with which I can know Him?"

These words of the old man were enough for the bedouin to repent to Allah for his sins and ask Him for forgiveness.

Countless blessings.

When everyone keep asking me about my future, they never failed to ask when will I get married. The same question I have been asking myself every now and then with repeating why, who and when; a close distance to giving up and abandoning all hopes.

And yet again, Allah deprived me from total ignorance. This article has silently and deeply touched my heart; showing me ways to hope for the best.

“If you desire Allah swt to be persistent in granting you the thing you love, be persistent in doing the thing He loves” – Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal-

Jodoh seperti rezeki, ia telah ditentukan. Namun, kita tidak tahu apa yang telah ditentukan oleh Allah. Dengan berpegang pada hakikat itu kita diperintahkan-Nya agar berusaha.

Carilah jodoh yang baik, carilah rezeki yang baik dengan jalan yang baik juga. Siapa jodoh kita? Berapa banyak rezeki kita? Dan bila? Itu bukan kerja kita. Itu ketentuan Allah. Milik kita hanya usaha.

Jadi, berusahalah dengan baik, Allah pasti tidak akan mengecewakan kita. Wajib menerima takdir tidak menolak kewajiban untuk mentadbir.

“Dulu saya tidak pernah melihat wajah bakal isteri saya,” kata seorang abang yang sangat saya hormati.

“Pelik tu bang. Bagaimana jodoh abang diaturkan?”

“Ikut pilihan guru agama yang mengajar saya,” jawabnya pendek.

“Mengapa tidak mahu melihat wajahnya? Kan itu dibenarkan oleh syariat? Barangkali sebab waktu itu tidak ada ruangan sosial seperti Facebook dan Twitter?” gurau saya.

“Memang belum ada. Tetapi ada cara lain. Gambar dan cara-cara yang lain ada, tetapi sebenarnya ada sebab lain…”

Dalam diam, saya rasa hairan. Wajahnya saya tenung. Dia orang yang sangat saya hormati. Sahsiah dan kepimpinannya sangat menawan hati. Tentu ada sebab yang solid untuk dia bersikap demikian.

“Sebelum aktif sebagai aktivis Islam seperti sekarang, saya pernah menjalin hubungan cinta. Dia teman lama sejak di sekolah rendah lagi,” jelasnya dengan tenang.

“Habis mengapa putus?”

“Kami putus kerana dia ada jalan tersendiri. Saya ajak bersama saya dalam perjuangan Islam ini tetapi dia selesa dengan gayanya. Lepas, bebas. Jadi kami berpisah setelah 10 tahun bercinta.”

Wah, ini kisah cinta yang dramatik! Saya tidak sangka sama sekali dia yang selama ini kelihatan begitu iltizam, tegas dan berwibawa pernah melalui tragedi cinta.

Isteri Amanah

“Itu kisah sebelumnya. Tetapi bagaimana dengan kisah pertemuan dengan isteri abang sekarang?” kata saya beralih kepada maksud asal pertanyaan.

“Setelah putus, abang terus pinta guru agama carikan jodoh. Ingin fokus kepada gerakan dan amal Islami tanpa diganggu gugat lagi oleh emosi cinta.”

“Tetapi mengapa abang tidak mahu melihat bakal isteri pilihan guru? Tidak dibenarkan?”

“Itu keputusan personal saya. Guru memberi kebebasan. Mahu melihat dulu, silakan. Tidak mahu, tidak mengapa.”

“Dan abang memilih untuk tidak melihat. Kenapa?”

“Eh, kamu masih tegar dengan soalan asal? Begini, bekas kekasih abang dulu sangat cantik. Abang takut perasaan abang diganggu oleh godaan perbandingan. Takut-takut, bakal isteri tidak secantik kekasih lama. Jadi abang tekad, nikah terus tanpa melihat wajahnya.”

Saya terkesima sebentar dan dengan pantas saya bertanya kembali, “Tetapi abang akan terpaksa juga membuat perbandingan setelah bernikah bukan? Setelah nikah, abang akan melihat wajahnya. Dan ketika itu mahu tak mahu godaan perbandingan akan datang juga.”

Sekali lagi dia senyum. Matanya bersinar-sinar dengan keyakinan. Jauh di lubuk hati, saya mengakui, dia memang bercakap dari hatinya.

“Amat jauh bezanya antara membandingkan wanita lain dengan bakal wanita yang akan kita nikahi dengan wanita yang telah kita nikahi…”

Pendek dia menjawabnya, namun terus menusuk ke hati saya. Tanpa saya pinta dia menyambung, “Apabila seorang wanita telah kita nikahi dengan sah, dialah wanita yang diamanahkan oleh Allah untuk kita bimbing dan pimpin menuju syurga. Nasib kita dunia dan akhirat sangat berkait rapat dengannya. Dia adalah jodoh yang ditakdirkan buat kita. Dialah wanita yang pasrah dan menyerah kepada kita atas nama Allah. Pada waktu itu, bagaimanapun keadaan wajahnya, siapa pun dia, sudah menjadi soal kedua.”

Cantik Itu Relatif dan Subjektif

“Abang tidak takut, kalau tiba-tiba wajah atau keadaannya tidak serasi dengan cita rasa abang? Maksudnya, er… er… kita masih manusia bukan?” saya menduga hatinya.

Dia ketawa tiba-tiba.

“Ya, kita masih manusia. Tetapi kita bukan sekadar manusia. Kita hamba Allah dan khalifah. Isteri ialah teman kita untuk memikul amanah dua misi berat itu. Untuk melaksanakannya, kita bukan hanya perlukan kecantikan seorang wanita, tetapi ilmunya, akhlaknya, sifat pengorbanannya dan kesetiaannya.”

“Jadi, untuk itu kecantikan tidak penting?”

“Semua yang datang daripada Allah ada kebaikannya. Namun ingat, Allah lebih tahu apa yang baik untuk kita berbanding kita sendiri. Sesiapa yang tekad menjadi hamba Allah dan khalifah, pasti tidak akan dikecewakan-Nya. Orang yang baik berhak mendapat yang baik, bukan begitu?”

“Bukan yang cantik?” jolok saya lagi.

“Cantik itu relatif dan sangat subjektif. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, bukankah begitu? Cita rasa manusia tentang kecantikan tidak sama. Malah ia juga berubah-ubah mengikut masa, usia dan keadaan. Tetapi yang baik itu mutlak dan lebih kekal sifatnya,” balasnya dengan yakin.

“Maksud abang?”

Dia diam. Termenung sebentar. Mungkin mencari-cari bahasa kata untuk menterjermahkan bahasa rasa.

“Kecantikan seorang wanita tidak sama tafsirannya. Orang budiman dan beriman, menilai kecantikan kepada budi dan akhlak. Pemuja hedonisme dan materialisme hanya fokus kepada kecantikan wajah dan daya tarikan seksual.”

Ketika saya ingin menyampuk, dia menambah lagi, “Cantik juga relatif mengikut keadaan. Jelitawan sekalipun akan nampak hodoh dan membosankan apabila asyik marah-marah dan merampus. Sebaliknya, wanita yang sederhana sahaja wajahnya akan nampak manis apabila sentiasa tersenyum, sedia membantu dan memahami hati suami.”

“Oh, betul juga tu!” kata saya. Teringat betapa ada seorang kenalan yang sering mengeluh tentang isterinya, “Sedap di mata tetapi sakit di hati…”

Wasilah Memilih Jodoh

“Bagaimana sebaik selepas berkahwin? Tak terkilan?” ujar saya dengan soalan nakal.

“Memang dari segi kecantikan, isteri abang sekarang biasa-biasa sahaja.”

“Maksudnya yang dulu lebih cantik?”

“Kamu ni, fikirannya masih berkisar dan berlegar-legar di situ juga. Ingat, yang biasa-biasa akan jadi luar biasa cantik apabila makin lama kita bersama dengannya. Itulah pengalaman abang. Hari ke hari, kecantikan isteri semakin terserlah. Entahlah, apa yang Allah ubah. Wajah itu atau hati ini?”

Wah, dia seakan berfalsafah! Kata-katanya punya maksud yang tersirat.

“Apa kaitannya dengan hati?” layan lagi. Ingin saya terus mencungkil mutiara hikmah daripadanya.

“Kalau hati kita indah, kita akan sentiasa melihat keindahan. Sebaliknya kalau hati rosak, keindahan tidak akan ketara, sekalipun sudah tampak di depan mata. Atau kita mungkin akan mudah bosan dengan apa yang ada lalu mula mencari lagi. Percayalah, orang yang rosak hatinya akan menjadi pemburu kecantikan yang fatamorgana!”

‘Ah, tentu dia bahagia kini!’ bisik hati saya sendiri.

“Apa panduan abang jika semua ini ingin saya tuliskan?”

“Pilihlah jodoh dengan dua cara. Pertama, jadilah orang yang baik. Insya-Allah, kita akan mendapat jodoh yang baik. Kedua, ikutlah pilihan orang yang baik. Orang yang baik akan memilih yang baik untuk jadi pasangan hidup kita.”

Jadi Orang Baik dan Pilihan Orang Baik

“Tapi bang, ramai yang menolak kaedah kedua. Kata mereka, mana mungkin kita menyerahkan hak kita memilih jodoh sendiri kepada ibu bapa, guru atau individu-individu lain sekalipun mereka orang yang baik-baik.”

“Tak mengapa. Kalau begitu, cuna cara pertama, jadilah orang yang baik.”

“Itu susah bang. Bukan mudah hendak menjadi orang yang baik. Ia satu proses yang panjang dan sukar menentukan apakah kita sudah jadi orang yang baik atau belum.”

Abang tersenyum lantas berkata, “Kamu menyoal bagi pihak orang lain bukan?”

Saya diam. Dalam senyap saya akui, inilah soalan yang sering diajukan oleh para remaja di luar sana.

“Kedua-dua cara itu boleh dijalankan serentak. Maksudnya, jika kita berusaha menjadi orang yang baik, insya-Allah, Allah akan kurniakan kita jodoh yang baik melalui pilihan orang baik. Ataupun kita berusaha menjadi orang yang baik sambil mencari orang yang baik sebagai jodoh, dan nanti pilihan kita itu direstui oleh orang yang baik!”

Wah, kedengaran berbelit-belit ayatnya, namun jika diamati ada kebenarannya.

“Tetapi ada juga mereka yang menolak pilihan orang yang baik bukan?”

“Kerana mereka bukan orang baik,” jawabnya pendek.

“Bukan, bukan begitu. Bolehkah terjadi orang baik menolak pilihan orang yang baik?”

“Ya, tidak mengapa. Tetapi mereka tetap menolaknya dengan cara yang baik. Itulah yang terjadi kepada seorang wanita yang bertanyakan haknya untuk menerima atau menolak jodoh yang dipilih oleh ibu bapanya kepada Rasulullah s.a.w.”

“Apa hikmah di sebalik kisah itu bang?”

“Kita boleh melihat persoalan ini dari dua dimensi. Pertama, mungkin ada anak-anak yang tidak baik menolak pilihan ibu bapa yang baik. Hikmahnya, Allah tidak mengizinkan orang yang baik menjadi pasangan orang yang tidak baik. Bukankah Allah telah berjanji, lelaki yang baik hanya untuk wanita yang baik dan begitulah sebaliknya?”

Saya terdiam. Benar-benar tenggelam dalam fikiran yang mendalam dengan luahan hikmah itu.

Jodoh Urusan Allah

“Dan mungkin juga anak itu orang baik tetapi ibu bapanya yang tidak baik itu memilih calon yang tidak baik sebagai pasangannya. Maka pada waktu itu syariat membenarkan si anak menolak pilihan ibu bapanya. Ya, itulah kaedah Allah untuk menyelamatkan orang baik daripada mendapat pasangan hidup yang jahat.”

“Bagaimana pula jika anak itu baik, dan ibu bapanya pun baik serta calon pilihan ibu bapanya juga baik, tetapi urusan pernikahan masih terbengkalai. Apa maknanya?” tanya saya inginkan penjelasan muktamad.

“Itulah takdir! Mungkin Allah menentukan ‘orang baik’ lain sebagai jodohnya. Sementara orang baik yang dicadangkan itu telah Allah tentukan dengan orang baik yang lain pula!”

Tiba-tiba saya teringat bagaimana Hafsah yang dicadangkan untuk menjadi calon isteri Sayidina Abu Bakar oleh ayahnya Sayidina Umar tetapi ditolak. Akhir Hafsah bernikah dengan Rasulullah s.a.w. Kebaikan sentiasa berlegar-legar dalam kalangan orang yang baik!

“Jodoh itu urusan Allah. Sudah dicatat sejak azali lagi. Tetapi prinsipnya tetap satu dan satu itulah yang wajib kita fahami. Orang yang baik berhak mendapat jodoh yang baik. Cuma sekali-sekala sahaja Allah menguji orang yang baik mendapat pasangan hidup yang jahat seperti Nabi Lut mendapat isteri yang jahat dan Asiyah yang bersuamikan Firaun laknatullah.”

“Apa hikmahnya kes yang berlaku sekali-sekala seperti itu?”

“Eh, abang bukan pakar hikmah! Tetapi mungkin Allah hendak meninggikan lagi darjah dan darjat orang baik ke tahap yang lebih tinggi.”

“Hikmah untuk kita?”

“Jika takdirnya pahit untuk kita, terimalah sebagai ubat. Katalah, kita sudah berusaha menjadi orang yang baik dan kita telah pun bernikah dengan pilihan orang yang baik, tetapi jika takdirnya pasangan kita bermasalah… bersabarlah. Katakan pada diri bahawa itulah jalan yang ditentukan oleh Allah untuk kita mendapat syurga. Maka rebutlah pahala sabar dan redha seperti Nabi Lut dan Nabi Ayyub atau kesabaran seorang isteri bernama Siti Asiah.”

Tok, tok, tok. Tiba-tiba pintu bilik tulis saya diketuk. Wajah watak “abang bayangan” saya pergi tiba-tiba. Tersedar saya daripada lamunan yang panjang. Wajah isteri terserlah di sebalik pintu. Sebalik melihatnya terdetak dalam hati sendiri, apakah aku telah menjadi insan yang baik untuk memperbaikinya?

Ah, hati dilanda bimbang mengingatkan makna satu ungkapan yang pernah saya tulis dahulu: “Yang penting bukan siapa isterimu semasa kau nikahinya, tetapi siapa dia setelah menikah denganmu. JAdi, janji Allah tentang lelaki yang baik untuk wanita yang baik bukan hanya berlaku pada awal pernikahan, tetapi di pertengahannya, penghujungnya malah sepanjang jalan menuju syurga!”

P/S

Nota hati: Pulang dari Kelantan hujung minggu lalu dengan badan yang sarat dengan keletihan. Namun hati dan fikiran sarat dengan iktibar dan pengajaran.

Berlegar di sekitar kuliah Hari Jumaat di bandar KB, mendengar. merasa dan melihat. Yang indah, bukan tanahnya, tetapi manusia yang menegakkan hukum Allah di atasnya.

Mungkin sesuatu yang kelihatan sederhana pada pandangan mata, tetapi sangat cantik bila dipandang dengan mata hati. Begitulah rasa hati… semoga kita semua kembali kepada Ilahi, kerana di sana ada keindahan yang hakiki dan abadi.

Berfikir tentang jodoh anak-anak, adalah satu cabaran yang dipenuhi pelbagai misteri. Ia sukar ditebak dan diduga. Namun, pesan saya cuma satu… untuk anak sendiri dan anak-anak di luar sana, ikutlah syariat, pasti selamat. Islam itu sejahtera. Tidak ada kebahagiaan tanpanya.

Ya, kesalahan dan kesilapan boleh berlaku - ada ampun, maaf dan taubat di situ. Namun mukmin sebenar tidak akan jatuh dalam lubang yang sama dua kali. Cukup hanya sekali… pertama, kerana kejahilan. Maka belajarlah. Kalau kedua, itu kerana kedegilan. Hubaya-hubaya, kekadang harga yang ditagih untuk ‘membetulkannya’ terlalu pedih dan menyakitkan.

Belajarlah melakukan yang benar dan betul buat pertama kali. Itu yang terbaik. Tetapi jika tidak, cubalah membetulkannya buat kali kedua, ketiga dan seterusnya. Jangan jemu untuk cuba melakukan yang terbaik, kerana kata bijak pandai: Kebaikan itu perlu dimulakan berkali-kali!

The Honor of Mother

In a famous incident, a man came to the Prophet (SAW) and asked:

"O Messenger of Allah! to whom should I show kindness? He replied: Your mother, next your mother, next your mother, and then comes your father..." (Sunan Abu Dawud)

The Quran also discusses the immense honor and respect due to both parents, and especially to mother:

"And We have enjoined on man (to be dutiful and good) to his parents. His mother bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and hardship, and his weaning is in two years give thanks to Me and to your parents, unto Me is the final destination." (Luqman 31:14)

Aqiqah

do you all know what is AQIQAH?

Aqiqah, in Islamic terminology, is defined as the animal that is slaughtered on the occasion of child birth.

The performance of Aqiqah is highly encouraged. It is to be performed by the parents or the guardians of the child. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions used to perform Aqiqah when they were bestowed with a newborn.

Imam Bukhari meriwayatkan dari Salman bin Amar Adh-Dhabi bahawa Rasulullah s.a.w pernah bersabda:

"Sesungguhnya anak itu diaqiqahi, tumpahkanlah darah baginya dan jauhkan penyakit daripadanya dengan mencukurnya".

When should Aqiqah be performed??

The best time to perform Aqiqah is on the seventh day after the birth of the baby.

sebelum kanak-kanak tersebut baligh.

But whats the purpose of Aqiqah?

There are many benefits in the performance of Aqiqah.
1. It is the announcing the birth of the baby. Being bestowed a child is a great blessing from the Creator.
2. Another purpose is inviting family members, neighbors, and friends to celebrate the blessed occasion. The poor should be included in the celebration by offering them food and meat served on this occasion.

Can we slaughter just any animals?
NO!!
there are types of animals to be slaughtered

The following is a hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) where he advised Aqiqah a goat/sheep.

Narrated Umm Kurz: The Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Two sheep which resemble each other are to be sacrificed for a boy and one for a girl. (Sunan Abu Dawood Book 15, Number 2830)

The condition of the animal for aqiqah

The condition of the animals in Aqiqah is the same as the conditions for the animals in Qurbani. The animals to be slaughtered must be a goats, cows or camels. For camels, it must be older than 6 years old, for cows the age must be older than 3 years old and for goats, it must be older than 2 years old. They must be free from any form of handicap such as blind, sick, limp and undernourished. The animals must be slaughtered in the appropriate humane ways.

Another rules of performing Aqiqah are:

1. Daging kambing Aqiqah akan dipotong mengikut sendinya dengan tidak memecahkan tulangnya sesuai dengan tujuan Aqiqah sebagai Fida (mempertalikan ikatan anak dengan Allah s.w.t).
2. Sewaktu Aqiqah dijalankan daging kambing Aqiqah akan disembelih sambil menyebut nama anak yang dilahirkan.

i have actually posted about this so call "CAMEL BUMPS" last two years,
and i did asked:
HOW DO they actually have em SO BIG??

huge fluffy clips on top of their pony tails/ buns to make the huge hair, then wrap the hijab over the top.

but then, i never care where to find those fluffy clips,
coz i never need one..

HOWEVER

famous Malaysian Designer Boutique,
i was told,
(only then i know)
that they also use
"wig" or "SANGGUL INDONESIA"

HUGE CAMEL BUMPS!!

Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) bersabda : 'Bila seseorang lelaki itu mati dan saudaranya sibuk dengan pengebumiannya, berdiri lelaki yang betul-betul kacak di bahagian kepalanya. Bila mayatnya dikapan, lelaki itu berada di antara kain kapan dan si mati.

Selepas pengebumian, semua orang pulang ke rumah, 2 malaikat Mungkar dan Nakir, datang dalam kubur dan cuba memisahkan lelaki kacak ini supaya mereka boleh menyoal lelaki yang telah meninggal itu seorang diri mengenai ketaatannya kepada Allah. Tapi lelaki kacak itu berkata,
Dia adalah temanku, dia adalah kawanku. Aku takkan meninggalkannya seorang diri walau apa pun. Jika kamu ditetapkan untuk menyoal, lakukanlah tugasmu. Aku tidak boleh meninggalkannya sehingga aku dapati dia dimasukkan ke dalam Syurga.'

Thereafter he turns to his dead companion and says, 'I am the Qur'an, which you used to read, sometimes in a loud voice and sometimes in a low voice. Do not worry. After the interrogation of Munkar and Naker, you will have no grief.'

Selepas itu dia berpaling pada temannya yang meninggal dan berkata,'Aku adalah Al-Quran, yang mana kamu membacanya, kadang-kadang dengan suara yang nyaring dan kadang-kadang dengan suara yang perlahan. Jangan bimbang. Selepas soal siasat dari Mungkar dan Nakir, kamu tidak akan bersedih.'

Jika mayat itu seorang muslim, maka solat yang dilakukannya ketika beliau masih hidup di dunia akan diletakkan di kepalanya, puasanya diletakkan disebelah kanannya, zakatnya diletakkan di sebelah kirinya dan amalan kebajikan daripada sedekahjariah, silaturrahim, perkara kebajikan dan ihsan diletakkan dihujung dua kakinya." Ia akan didatangi malaikat dari aras kepala, maka solat itu berkata kepada malaikat : dari arasku tidak ada jalan masuk.. Kemudian malaikat berpindah ke sebelah kanan, maka puasa berkata kepadanya : dari arasku tidak ada jalan masuk. Kemudian malaikat berpindah kesebelah kiri, maka zakat berkata kepadanya : dari arasku tidak ada jalan masuk.

Kemudian di datangi dari arah kedua hujung kakinya dan berkatalah amal-kebajikan : di bahagianku tidak ada jalan masuk. Maka malaikat berkata kepadanya : Duduklah kamu. Kepadanya (mayat) memperlihatkan matahari yang sudah mula terbenam, lalu malaikat bertanya kepada mayat itu : Apakah pandangan kamu tentang seorang laki-laki (Muhammad) yang kamu dahulu sentiasa bercakap tentangnya; dan bagaimana penyaksian kamu kepadanya? Maka berkata mayat itu : Tinggalkan aku sebentar, aku hendak sembahyang.. Maka berkata malaikat : Sesungguhnya engkau akan mengerjakan solat (boleh saja solat) tetapi jawab dahulu apa yang kami tanya ini. Apakah pandangan kamu tentang seorang laki -laki (Muhammad) yang kamu dahulu sentiasa bercakap tentangnya; dan bagaimana penyaksian kamu kepada nya? Maka berkata mayat itu: Laki-laki itu ialah! Nabi Muhammad S.A.W dan aku naik saksi bahawa nabi Muhammad saw itu ialah pesuruh Allah yang membawa kebenaran daripada Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala. Maka malaikat berkata kepada mayat itu : Demikianlah kamu dihidupkan dan begitu juga kamu dimatikan dan dengan demikian juga kamu dibangkitkan semula diakhirat insya'Allah... Kemudian dibuka baginya satu pintu syurga, maka dikata padanya itulah tempat kamu dan itulah janji Allah bagi kamu dan kamu akan berada di dalamnya.... Maka bertambahlah gembira mayat itu. Kemudian dilapangkan kuburnya seluas 70 hasta dan disinari cahaya baginya".

salwar kameez is a pakistani indian mixture of busana. long pants and long tunic, along with a shawl which match the clothes. appropriate choice to cover aurah, in a traditional indian look yet, it could be very stylish.

the word "salwar kameez" itself is an arabic word where salwar means pants, and kameez is clothing. (correct me if i'm wrong). Fasting is another unique moral and spiritual characteristic of Islam. Literally defined, fasting means to abstain "completely" from foods, drinks, intimate intercourse and smoking, before the break of the dawn till sunset, during the entire month of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic year. But if we restrict the meaning of the Islamic Fasting to this literal sense, we would be sadly mistaken.

When Islam introduced this matchless institution, it planted an ever-growing tree of infinite virtue and invaluable products. Here is an explanation of the spiritual meaning of the Islamic Fasting:

It teaches man the principle of sincere Love: because when he observes Fasting he does it out of deep love for God. And the man who loves God truly is a man who really knows what love is.
It equips man with a creative sense of hope and an optimistic outlook on life; because when he fasts he is hoping to please God and is seeking His Grace.
It imbues in man the genuine virtue of effective devotion, honest dedication and closeness to God; because when he fasts he does so for God and for His sake alone.
It cultivates in man a vigilant and sound conscience; because the fasting person keeps his fast in secret as well as in public. In fasting, especially, there is no mundane authority to check man's behavior or compel him to observe fasting. He keeps it to please God and satisfy his own conscience by being faithful in secret and in public. There is no better way to cultivate a sound conscience in man.
It indoctrinates man in patience and selflessness, as through fasting, he feels the pains of deprivation but he endures them patiently.
It is an effective lesson in applied moderation and willpower.
Fasting also provides man with a transparent soul, a clear mind and a light body.
It shows man a new way of wise savings and sound budgeting.
It enables man to master the art of Mature Adaptability. We can easily understand the point once we realize that fasting makes man change the entire course of his daily life.
It grounds man in discipline and healthy survival.
It originates in man the real spirit of social belonging, unity and brotherhood, of equality before God as well as before the law.
It is a Godly prescription for self-reassurance and self-control.
Now, someone may be tempted to raise the objection: If this is the case with the Islamic institution of fasting, and if this is the picture of Islam in this aspect, why are the Muslims not living in a utopia? To such an objection we can only say that Muslims have lived in and enjoyed a utopia in a certain epoch of their history. The realization of that utopia was a phenomenon of a unique achievement in the history of man. We say unique, because no religion or social system other than Islam has ever been able to realize its ideals in reality.

The reason why the Islamic utopia is not being established nowadays is manifold and easily explicable. But to restrict our discussion to the institution of fasting we may say that some Muslims, unfortunately for them, do not observe the fast or, at best, adopt the attitude of indifference. On the other hand, some of those who observe it do not realize its true meaning and, as a result, derive very little benefit out of it or, in fact, no benefit at all. That is why some Muslims today, do not enjoy the real privileges of fasting.

It has already been indicated that the period of obligatory fasting is the month of Ramadan. The daily period of observance starts before the break of the dawn ant ends immediately after sunset. Normally there are accurate calendars to toll the exact time, but in the absence of such facilities one should consult one's watch and the sun's positions, together with the local newspapers, weather bureau, etc.

Fasting Ramadan is obligatory on every responsible and fit Muslim. But there are other times when it is recommended to make voluntary fasting, after the Traditions of Prophet Muhammad. Among these times are Mondays and Thursdays of every week, a few days of each month in the two months heralding the coming of Ramadan, i.e., Rajab and Sha'ban, six days after Ramadan following the 'Eid-ul-Fitr Day. Besides, it is always compensating to fast any day of any month of the year, except the 'Eid Days and Fridays when no Muslim should fast.

However, we may repeat that the only obligatory fasting is that of Ramadan - which may be 29 or 30 days, depending on the moon's positions. This is a pillar of Islam, and any failure to observe it without reasonable excuses is a grave sin in the sight of God.

Who Must Fast?

Fasting Ramadan is compulsory upon every Muslim, male or female, who has these qualifications:

To be mentally and physically fit, which means to be sane and able.
To be of full age, the age of puberty and discretion, which is normally about fourteen. Children under this age should be encouraged to start this good practice on easy levels, so when they reach the age of puberty they will be mentally and physically prepared to observe fasting.
To be present at one's permanent settlement, your home town, one's farm, and one's business premises, etc. This means not to be on a journey of about fifty miles or more.
To be fairly certain that fasting is unlikely to cause you any harm, physical or mental, other than the normal reactions to hunger, thirst, etc.

Exemption From Fasting:
These said qualifications exclude the following categories:

Children under the age of puberty and discretion.
Insane people who are unaccountable for their deeds. People of these two categories are exempted from the duty of fist, and no compensation or any other substitute is enjoined on them.
Men and women who are too old and feeble to undertake the obligation of fast and bear its hardships. Such people are exempted from this duty, but they must offer, at least, one needy poor Muslim an average full meal or its value per person per day.
Sick people whose health is likely to be severely affected by the observance of fast. They may postpone the fast, as long as they are sick, to a later date and make up for it, a day for a day.
Travelers may break the fast temporarily during their travel only and make up for it in later days, a day for a day
Pregnant women and women breast-feeding their children may also break the fast, if its observance is likely to endanger their own health or that of their infants. But they must make up for the fast at a delayed time, a day for a day.
Women in the -period of menstruation (of a maximum of ten days or of confinement (of a maximum of forty days).; They must postpone the fast till recovery and then make up for it, a day for a day.

It should be understood that here, like in all other Islamic undertakings, the intention must be made clear that this action is undertaken in obedience to God, in response to His command and out of love of Him.

The fast of any day of Ramadan becomes void by intentional eating or drinking or smoking or indulgence in any intimate intercourse, and by allowing anything to enter through the mouth into the interior parts of the body. And if this is done deliberately without any lawful reason, this is a major sin which only renewed repentance can expiate.

If anyone, through forgetfulness, does something that would ordinarily break the fast, 0a observance is not nullified, and his fast stands valid, provided he stops doing that thing the moment he realizes what he is doing.

On completion of the fast of Ramadan, the special charity known as Sadagat-ul-Fitr (charity of ' Fast-breaking) must be distributed before 'Eid-ul-Fitr (approximately), seven dollars per head.

General Recommendations:

It is strongly recommended by Prophet Muhammad to observe these practices especially during Ramadan:

To have a light meal before the break of the dawn, known as Suhoor.
To eat a few dates or start breaking the fast by plain water right after sunset, saying this prayer Allah humma laka sumna, wa 'ala rizqika aftarna. (O God! for Your sake have we fasted and now we break the fast with the food You have given us).
To make your meals as light as possible because, as the Prophet put it, the worst thing man can fill is his stomach.
To observe the supererogatory prayer known as Taraweeh.
To exchange social visits and intensify humanitarian services.
To increase the study ant recitation of the Qur'an.
To exert the utmost in patience ant humbleness.
To be extraordinarily cautious in using one's senses, one's mind and, especially, the tongue; to abstain from careless gossip and avoid all suspicious motions.

last two weeks, alhamdulillah, i have performed umrah. it was such a bless and everything went smoothly. Performing umrah this time, really gave me different experience. more focus oh 'ibadah, realization on sins and wrong doings which i now regretted, i'm now trying to be someone better. insya Allah..

to begin with, perhaps, i should focus on solat and aurah.

anyway, during almost two weeks there, i have been wearing abaya, which, it used to be my daily wears last few years, before, i started to like colors and all abaya was tossed into boxes. but now, with this new job and my commitment to be better person, i feel more confortable wearing abaya again ( of coz in some occasion i will wear anything brightfull, but covering my aurah). its not that, to be better, i need to wear abaya. its just one of a way, for me to stop wearing tights, and tightssss...if u get what i mean.

i admit, that i sometimes, can be very stylish, but in a way that cover my aurah, insya Allah...

in this month of bless, i would like to wish all of u, Ramadhan Kareem and May Allah give us with more bless and forgiveness...

Henna art is used for religious ceremonies, such as weddings, and to create temporary tattoos. Henna designs are very flowing and don't require a pattern or stencil unless the artist wishes to use one. Creating henna art is a relaxing and creative experience, but one you must allot a decent amount of time to create. Making henna paste is fairly easy and there is no set recipe for the best henna.

It requires a few ingredients and some trial and error to figure out just how much of each ingredient is needed to create the look you desire.

How to Make Henna??

Step1

Sift the henna powder into a bowl. You want the finest henna possible, as lumps will clog the end of your decorating applicator and make it hard to create detailed designs.

Step2

Strain the juice from a lemon into the sifted henna powder. You want to use one full lemon's juice, as the more acidic your mixture, the darker it will stain the skin. The consistency of the paste should be thick, about the same as a cookie dough.

Step3

Add hot, strong coffee to the mixture. You only need to add enough to make the mixture have the consistency of brownie batter. The stronger the coffee, the darker it will make your mixture, and the darker it will appear on the skin.

Step4

Stir the paste until it is very smooth. Do this while the coffee is still hot, as a warmer mixture will reach a homogenous consistency faster than a colder mixture.Step5 Cover the mixture with saran wrap and set aside for 12 to 24 hours to allow the dye to develop. The longer it sits, the darker the dye will be. However, if the dye is allowed to sit longer than two or three days it will start to diminish in color and will not dye the skin as well.

The Penang Thalassaemia Society (Pertubuhan Thalassaemia Pulau Pinang) was formed in 1988 by a small group of affected families and well-wishers to provide moral support , raise funds to improve treatment and facilities for the betterment of Thalassaemics.

Objectives :

1. To set up a local resource center whereby Thalassaemics, their families and well-wishes can get-together to exchange ideas and disseminate data, information on Thalassaemia.
2. To raise funds to run the various projects such as TAS ( Treatment Assistance Subsidy ) , T*2 subsidy, motivation camps to improve quality of life of Thalassaemics.
3. To establish and maintain close contacts with blood donor services and NGOs to ensure adequate blood supply for our Thalssaemics' requirements.
4. To support and cooperate with local health care authorities in the care, treatment and management of our Thalassaemics.
5. To liase with other Thalassaemia Societies, both national or international, commercial and research establishments on latest developments in the management of Thalassaemia.
6. To create public awareness and counselling on Thalassaemia including screening for carriers.
7. To update members and healthcare providers on new modalities of treatment and management.

With intention to get donation for Penang Thalasseemia Society, i was chosen to be one of the Personaliti Berita Harian. tho, by the overlook of the page, it might reflex the impressions of glamourous, but the "niat" should be varied from each of the participants. besides the donation, i really hope this could be my opportunity for better involvement in doing social works.

I will upload more photos on my involvement with the society's activities together with those thalassaemia patients...

i always love pink, its the color of love..( but we normally get red roses from someone we love) tsk. anyway ladies.... pink is the color for ladies... very seldom that we find guy wears pink? but, of coz, there are few guys who find pink is attratctive as black..

being always on the move, i always prefer to be casual and smart. not too casual that i would seems like going to the mall...
and since purple is my favourite color for this year, i always try to match purple with almost every color suitable. and brown could just go all year long..
